If you’ve been having a tough week, the weekend is the perfect time for a luxurious, uninterrupted binge.
Rather than watching Modern Family for the millionth time, why not watch one of these underrated Hulu shows?
Featuring actors like Nathan Fillion, David Thewlis and Thomas Brodie-Sangster, these shows have something for everyone — and they’re perfect when you’re looking for something new to watch.
Whether you like sci-fi, period dramas or comedies, the Watch With Us team recommends you check out these three underrated TV series on Hulu.
‘Deli Boys’ (2025-Present)
This new comedy series is a bloody good time — it follows brothers Mir (Asif Ali) and Raj (Saagar Shaikh) Dar, the wealthy sons of businessman Arshad “Baba” Dar (Iqbal Theba). When their father dies unexpectedly, the brothers find themselves in charge not of a thriving business but instead of a crumbling criminal empire.
With their money all gone, it’s up to no-nonsense Lucky (Poorna Jagannathan, Never Have I Ever), a close family friend who was actually their father’s right hand in the crime world, to shepherd these two bumbling man-children through the underworld that they now belong to. Don’t miss this underrated comedy, which stars a wonderfully talented ensemble cast.
‘The Artful Dodger’ (2023-Present)
This show is worth watching for its clever premise alone — the notorious pickpocket from Charles Dickens’ Oliver Twist is now all grown up and trying to leave his past behind. Now a trained surgeon, Jack Dawkins (Thomas Brodie-Sangster) hopes to start fresh in the British colony of Australia. (Turns out his nimble hands were good for something other than picking pockets.)
But when his old father figure — and crime boss — Fagin (David Thewlis) turns up in the colony, Jack finds it’s not easy to dodge a life of crime. With Maia Mitchell as Jack’s new (and totally unattainable) love interest Lady Belle Fox, this series has a wonderful cast and an unusual setting. The Australian colonial period, combined with the show’s modern sensibility and black humor, makes an exciting drama that is deserving of more attention — and love.
‘Firefly’ (2002)
One of the most famously underrated shows, this sci-fi epic has a base of devoted fans who remain furious to this day that it didn’t get a second season. Firefly combines sci-fi with Western themes as it follows the crew of the Serenity, a pioneer spaceship that’s exploring a new star system.
From creator Joss Whedon (Buffy the Vampire Slayer), this show stars Nathan Fillion as Captain Mal Reynolds and Gina Torres as his second-in-command. The spacefaring adventures are exciting, the cast has a delightful, offbeat chemistry and the worldbuilding is imaginative. No wonder Firefly developed a cult following and even spawned a spinoff movie, Serenity.
