Bengaluru-headquartered Ather Energy on Saturday unveiled a new platform that will produce commuter, maxi and sporty electric scooters.
The EL platform offers battery pack options ranging from 2 kWh to 5 kWh.
The company aims to roll out the first electric scooter from this platform next year.
All of Ather’s new electric scooters will be based on this platform, according to the company.
Ather offers several electric scooter models, including Rizta, 450S and 450X.
Ather Energy claims to be the first two-wheeler OEM to establish a fast charging two-wheeler network, the Ather Grid, in the country.
As of March 31, 2025, the company reported 3,611 fast chargers and neighbourhood chargers globally -- including 3,578 fast chargers and neighbourhood chargers across India. Out of those, 33 fast chargers were located across Nepal and Sri Lanka.
Ather Energy operates production facilities in Whitefield, Bengaluru, and Hosur, Tamil Nadu.
Ather rolled out Rizta S in July
Last month, Ather introduced the Rizta S with a 3.7 kWh battery pack, expanding its Rizta scooter line-up.

The Rizta S boasts an IDC range of 159 km, the company said.
Ather rolled out the Rizta line in 2024 as Ather’s first family scooter. The model now accounts for over 60 per cent of Ather’s total sales.
Ather 450 and Ather Rizta line-ups
While the Ather 450 line caters to customers seeking performance scooters, the Ather Rizta line is targeted at customers seeking convenience scooters for their families, according to the company.
Ather Energy launched its 450 line of electric scooters in September 2018.
