Canva, a visual communication platform, has announced the launch of its Creative Operating System, the company’s largest product update to date. The release brings together over a decade of development and introduces new tools aimed at improving creativity and design workflows.
Built on Canva’s Design Model, the Creative Operating System brings together every part of the creative process from design and collaboration to publishing and performance. The result is a faster, smarter, and more connected way to design, where human creativity leads and AI amplifies what’s possible.
“As knowledge becomes more and more accessible, we believe we’re moving from the Information Era to the Imagination Era, a time when creativity has never been more critical,” said Melanie Perkins, Co-Founder and CEO, Canva.
“We’ve been thinking about how we can empower our community to succeed in this era, which is why we’re incredibly excited to unveil our biggest launch yet with the all-in-one Creative Operating System.”

“From major upgrades to our Visual Suite with Video, Email, and Forms, to a powerful new AI layer and tools to grow your brand and business, we can’t wait to see how people use all of these new products to bring their ideas to life.”
At the heart of the new Creative Operating System is a reimagined Visual Suite. It expands what’s possible across every format, from video and email to code and forms, making it easier than ever to bring ideas and achieve your goals.
The Creative Operating System introduces:
- Video 2.0:
A redesigned video editor built to simplify the creation process. Video 2.0 combines advanced editing tools with Canva’s easy-to-use interface, allowing users to produce videos quickly on any device.
With Magic Video and a library of updated templates, users can generate complete videos from a single prompt. The new timeline makes editing, trimming, and layering more efficient, while AI tools assist with automated edits and effects.

- Email Design:
One of Canva’s most requested products, Email Design, introduces a completely new format, bringing email creation into the same platform where marketing teams already design their content.
Teams can now create, customise, and export fully branded marketing emails in minutes, without coding or switching tools. Designs can be exported as HTML files to distribute from your email platform of choice.
- Forms:
A new feature that allows users to collect feedback, RSVPs, and data directly in Canva. Forms can be added to websites or other designs and styled to match a brand’s visual identity. Responses are automatically stored in Canva Sheets, keeping all data organised in one place.
- Canva Code Meets Sheets:
Users can now link Canva Sheets to Canva Code projects, enabling the creation of interactive, data-driven tools such as dashboards or calculators. These remain automatically updated as data changes, ensuring connected and real-time insights.

New AI Layer
After years of research and development, Canva has introduced a new generation of AI designed specifically for creative work, including what it describes as the first model trained to understand design principles.
The update marks a significant step in how AI can assist creative processes by enhancing efficiency while keeping human creativity at the centre.
Canva’s new AI layer includes:
- Canva Design Model: A model built to understand the complexity of design. Developed from years of research and design knowledge, the Canva Design Model understands design logic, orchestrates layout, and generates fully editable content in seconds.
- AI Everywhere You Work: Canva’s AI has been upgraded and is now integrated throughout the design process. Users can generate elements such as photos, videos, textures, or 3D graphics directly on the canvas. New style-matching features ensure designs remain consistent and on-brand without manual edits.
- Ask @Canva: A built-in design assistant that provides feedback, suggestions, and smart edits. By tagging @Canva, users can access real-time support without interrupting their workflow, receiving help with both copy and design.
