Copper nears $10,000 a ton on LME

Copper surged toward its key threshold of $10,000 a ton on the London Metal Exchange on Monday, after advancing last month on a weaker dollar.
The metal gained 3% in August and rose as much as 0.3% to $9,928 a ton on Monday.
