First Trade: Markets open in green; Sensex jumps 167 pts, Nifty above 24,670

Market Opening Bell: The Indian equity benchmarks opened in the green on Tuesday. The BSE Sensex rose 167 points to 80,521, touching an intraday high of 80,565 in early trade. The NSE Nifty50 gained over 45 points, reaching 24,671.80.

In the broader markets, NSE Midcap 100 advanced 0.24 per cent, while the Nifty Smallcap 100 climbed 0.45 per cent, indicating positive sentiment across segments.
