Ganesh Chaturthi 2025: Are BSE, NSE, schools and banks open or closed on September 27?

Ganesh Chaturthi, one of the famous festivals of India, will be observed on Wednesday, August 27, this year. The festival is also called Vinayaka Chaturthi or Vinayaka Chavithi or Vinayagar Chaturthi. On this day, families and neighbours come together to celebrate the birthday of the Hindu deity Ganesh. 

Are NSE, BSE closed on Ganesh Chaturthi? Yes, the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) and the National Stock Exchange (NSE) will be closed tomorrow (August 27). This will be the last holiday in August for the stock market. 

Due to the Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations, there will be no trading activity. According to the information available on the official BSE website, trade activity in the Currency Derivatives Segments will also remain suspended on Ganesh Chaturthi 2025. Trading in the NDS-RST and Tri-Party Repo segments will also remain closed tomorrow.

During the morning shift, which runs from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, trading activity in the Commodity Derivatives and Electronic Gold Receipts (EGR) segments will be suspended. However, following Tuesday's customary closing time, trade will continue on Wednesday at 5:00 PM.
