Gumtree and Wise Move simplify nationwide delivery for big buys

Online marketplace Gumtree has partnered with logistics platform Wise Move to offer South Africans a safer and more efficient way to transport large items purchased online. The integration, which launched on 1 June 2025, allows Gumtree users to seamlessly book vetted movers via Wise Move, whether they’re buying furniture, appliances and even vehicles.

Wise Move, a tech-enabled platform that connects users to reviewed and rated movers completed over 18 000 car relocations in 2024 alone.

Hatchbacks made up the majority of these moves (39%), followed by sedans, SUVs and bakkies. Toyota was the most moved vehicle brand with Gauteng to the Western Cape emerging as the busiest route, accounting for more than 13 000 transport jobs.

Boosting trust and small business support

A key feature of the partnership is its focus on safety and convenience. Gumtree’s built-in ID verification, combined with Wise Move’s network of pre-vetted transport providers, offers buyers and sellers added peace of mind throughout the purchase and delivery process.

The collaboration also benefits small businesses. Many of Wise Move’s transport partners are owner-operated and the platform provides them with consistent access to new delivery jobs, aligning with Gumtree’s ongoing commitment to supporting entrepreneurship.
