Heavy rains lash Delhi again; DIAL issues travel advisory for fliers

Delhi witnessed rains again on Monday morning, and the India Meteorological Department has predicted moderate to heavy rains across the national capital and NCR on July 14. In view of the bad weather conditions, the Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL) on Monday issued a travel advisory for fliers.

In its advisory, DIAL advised passengers to consider alternate modes of transport, including the metro, to reach the airport and “avoid potential delays”.

"As per the Indian Meteorological Department's forecast, Delhi is experiencing inclement weather conditions. Our on-ground teams are working diligently with all stakeholders to ensure your journey remains hassle-free. Passengers are advised to consider alternative modes of transport, including Delhi Metro, to reach the airport and avoid potential delays," the DIAL said in the travel advisory.

Delhi also witnessed heavy rainfall on Sunday, leading to waterlogging and traffic jams in many parts of the national capital.

A traffic jam was witnessed at Rajiv Chowk as vehicular movement slowed down, following heavy rainfall.

It has been raining continuously in Delhi since Wednesday, due to which many areas, including Bindapur in Uttam Nagar, have been waterlogged and roads have been submerged in water. Due to heavy rains, traffic has also come to a standstill in many parts of the national capital.
