The India and the US mini trade deal will likely be finalized within 48 hours as the July 9 tariff deadline looms. The deadline also marks the cessation of the 90-day tariff introduced under the new US administration, impacting several nations, including India.

Reportedly, talks between the two nations have already concluded and it is informed that both nations agreed to the terms of the deal, seen to boost trade in major sectors.

So, as the trade deal nears and the July 9 deadline looms, here's what Zee Business Managing Editor Anil Singhvi make of the likely deal.

Will the India-US trade be striked before July 9 deadline?

The expert is of the view that considering the statements of  the Commerce Minister, it seems that there is still no complete agreement on the trade deal. If a trade deal is done except for agri and dairy products, it will be very good, he added.

If the tariff remains below 10%, the market will like it. The deadline for the new tariff, being August 1 is also good from the sentiment point of view, noted Singhvi.

According to Singhvi, this week shall be crucial for the Indian equities given the likely US-India trade deal that is likely to be announced shortly. Plus, investors will also closely track the Q1FY26 earnings season which kickstarts with the results of IT bellwether on July 10 (Thursday).

He added that by then it will be cleared as to FIIs will continue to offload their positions in Indian equities or would halt for some time. So far in July, FIIs have been seller to the tune of Rs 5,452 crore.

Should investors buy or sell before the India-US trade deal?

The expert said that this week Indian equities may see a big move with support placed at 25,125-25,275. While the strong support for Bank Nifty is 56050-56250. He added that above 57,650 and 25,700, Bank Nifty and Nifty, respectively will see breakout.

The expert advised not to take big bets in any of the sector before the deal is announced. Also, he asked to keep intraday as well as overnight positions low. He also said to do hedging and maintain strict losses.
