On April 1, nursing influencer Hailey Okula died at age 33 after giving birth to her first child. Husband Matthew Okula shared that his wife died from amniotic fluid embolism and was able to briefly meet their baby before her death.
The next month, the Chandler, Arizona, Police Department confirmed to Us Weekly that content creator Emilie Kiser’s 3-year-old son, Trigg Kiser, died after he was pulled unconscious from the family’s backyard pool.
On July 23, Rodeo Queen influencer Camila Trevisol died at age 22 after a battle with a rare form of bone cancer.

The Rodeo Queen influencer Camila Trevisol died on July 23 at age 22 after a battle with a rare form of bone cancer. “We inform you that our princess has passed away this morning,” a caption, translated to English, read on Trevisol’s Instagram post at the time. “We appreciate everyone’s support in this fight.”
Extreme sports influencer Andreas Tonelli died on July 15 at age 48 while biking the Dolomites. Italy’s L’Unione Sarda reported that Tonelli died during a solo outing where he fell over 650 feet in the Vallelunga area of Val Gardena, Italy.
Fitness influencer Christina Bitner died at age 41 on July 14. “It’s with a heavy heart that I share the passing of my dear friend of over 27 years. Christina was called home to be with the Lord today,” friend Natalie Prescott wrote via Instagram at the time. “Her husband Brent asked me to share this heartbreaking news, knowing how many people loved her and how hard it is right now to find the words.”
Influencer Natália Cavanellas died on July 7 at age 40 after going into cardiorespiratory arrest during a cosmetic procedure, per CNN Brasil. In a letter obtained by the outlet, representatives for the doctor who performed the procedure on Cavanellas — Edgar Lopez — claimed that she "underwent an elective surgical procedure, performed in a suitable hospital setting, with all preoperative examinations completed in accordance with safety protocols and medical monitoring."
"Unfortunately, the patient developed a serious complication, compatible with pulmonary embolism, a rare event, but recognized in the medical literature as possible, even with all the preventive measures adopted,” the message read, translated from Portuguese to English. The letter added that the doctor has "over 20 years of experience" and "specialized training" in addition to a history of "always acting with ethics, responsibility and dedication."
Influencer Tanner Martin announced his own death in a June 25 prerecorded video. Martin, who battled stage IV colon cancer, was 30 years old. “Hey, it’s me, Tanner, if you’re watching this, I am dead,” he said at the time. “I had a heck of a life. I decided to make this video announcing my death because I saw someone did that, like, a year or so ago, and I think it’s a good opportunity to get all your thoughts out.”
Weeks before his death, Martin welcomed his first baby with wife Shay Wright.
YouTuber Mikalya Raines’ husband, Ethan Frankamp, shared on June 23 that Raines died by suicide “a couple days ago.” Raines, who ran the SaveAFox rescue organization, allegedly faced online bullying before her death.
“We have suffered a loss that is unimaginable,” Ethan wrote via Instagram at the time. “Mikayla was truly the most amazing and inspiring individual I have ever known, and not having her here makes everything feel empty. I feel broken. But I will continue her dream, and I hope to have your support going forward so that we can do good in her name.”
The Fontana Police Department told Us that fitness influencer Gloria Zamora was on a date when the pair were shot by her estranged husband on June 21. Multiple off-duty law enforcement officers in the area responded to the gunshot sound, including an off-duty San Bernardino County sheriff’s deputy. The department told Us at the time that an investigation was ongoing.
Hiking influencer Juliana Marins fell from a volcano in Indonesia on June 21. Authorities found her body after a three-day search on June 24. An autopsy showed that Marins died from internal bleeding caused by damage to organs and bone fractures. Reports claimed that Marins survived the initial fall but died less than 20 minutes after her bleeding began. A report from Agencia Brasil noted that Marins’ injuries "stemmed from blunt force trauma a few hours before the body was recovered.” The autopsy noted that injuries to her abdomen that affected her respiratory system were the most severe.

Book influencer Tais Bruna de Castro died at age 36 after reportedly being stabbed to death when she was approached by a man at a shopping center in Sao Paolo on June 2. People reported that CNN Brasil noted the suspect, Cláudio Elizeu, turned himself in and was arrested. He allegedly told authorities he attacked the influencer because she wasn’t interested in him romantically.
TikTok star Sana Yousaf died at age 17 after being shot inside her Pakistan home on June 2. CBS reported at the time that she was killed by a man who repeatedly tried to contact her through social media. “It was a case of repeated rejections. The boy was trying to reach out to her time and again,” police chief Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi said in a press conference at the time, per the outlet “It was a gruesome and cold-blooded murder.” The suspect, a 22-year-old man, was arrested on suspicion of murder.
Beauty influencer Guava Shuishui, known online as Guava Beauty, died on May 24. While she was known for eating cosmetic products in her videos, a friend shared that the medical team “clearly ruled out any possibility related to the so-called ‘food cosmetics’” when she first was admitted to the hospital.
TikTok star Anna Grace Pheland died at age 19 on May 24 after a battle with brain cancer. “Dear friends and family, it is with great sadness to announce that our beautiful daughter, Anna Grace Phelan, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ,” a statement shared via Phelan’s TikTok read. “So many of you have followed her journey through a difficult battle with cancer and bore witness to her powerful testimony of faith.”
The message continued, “Thank you for the countless thousands of prayers for healing and peace. May we all rejoice with the assurance that she is in Heaven now, and she has been healed. Let us also remember that the only path to the promised kingdom of Heaven is through salvation in Jesus Christ.”
Hiking influencer Hannah Moody was found dead on May 22, roughly 600 yards off a trail in Arizona. The Maricopa County Office of the Medical Examiner reported in July that Moody was found “deceased and decomposing” two days after she failed to return from a hike. Her death was ruled as environmental heat exposure, with the manner of death deemed accidental.
Valeria Márquez, 23-year-old woman with an "active presence and influence on social media," was inside a beauty salon in Jalisco, Mexico, when a man entered the store and shot her, authorities said in a May 13 statement per NBC Los Angeles. ABC7 Los Angeles reported that Marquez, who was livestreaming on TikTok at the time, was pronounced dead at the scene. Prosecutors later alleged that Márquez may have been killed by a hitman.
The Chandler, Arizona, Police Department confirmed to Us on May 18 that Trigg Kiser died at age 3 after he was pulled out of a backyard pool on May 12.
Emilie’s husband, Brady Kiser, told authorities that he was home alone watching Trigg and son Teddy — whom the couple welcomed in March — when he lost sight of his eldest son for three to five minutes in the backyard. Brady reportedly saw Trigg in the pool, jumped in to get his son and called 911.
Us confirmed in June that an investigation into Trigg’s death was closed. After reviewing evidence found during the investigation, authorities announced on July 15 that investigators recommended a “Class 4 felony charge of child abuse” against Brady. A statement released by Maricopa County Attorney’s Office on July 25 noted that there’s “no likelihood of conviction” against Brady.
Preston Ordone, the 2-year-old TikTok star known as “Okay Baby” online, died in a single-vehicle car crash on April 24. Us confirmed in May that the toddler died from “blunt force injuries due to a motor vehicle crash.” The St. Tammany Parish coroner’s office also noted that his death was categorized as accidental.
Influencer Lizzie Kieffer shared that daughter Lily Kieffer died on April 23, days after her 1st birthday. Lizzie explained that the family has come to learn” that Lily had a “large mass on her brain,” claiming that they “could have never known about as she never showed signs.”
Influencer Hannah Campbell revealed that her 10-month-old daughter, Elliana Rose, died on April 6 after suffering from epidermolysis bullosa.
“Our sweet girl Elliana Rose lost her battle last night,” Campbell shared via TikTok. “She passed peacefully last night, wrapped in love. I don’t know what to do with myself today. I’m heartbroken, and I’m angry. No child should have to endure what she did. EB stole her from us. Let’s fight for a cure so no other family has to feel this. Thank you for loving her with us.”

“She was able to see him for a split second, and I’m always going to remember that,” Matthew told Fox 11 Los Angeles at the time. “It just came upon me so quickly and unexpectedly.”
Travel influencer Vanessa Konopka died on March 7 at age 28 after battling a serious illness. Her partner, Fernando, shared that Konopoka had been hospitalized in December 2024 and diagnosed with “severe liver damage and pneumonia, which have made her extremely weak.”
TikTok star Joshua Blackledge died at his North Carolina home on March 18 at the age of 16. His cause of death was ruled to be suicide, per June court documents exclusively obtained by Us. No drug paraphernalia was found at the scene, but a teddy bear, paper note and picture was uncovered.
Alysha Burney’s brother Charles Burney confirmed that the YouTube influencer died in her sleep on March 2 while on vacation in Mexico to celebrate her 25th birthday.
“She was not selfish with her knowledge and was a very open book about her journey. She will always be dearly loved, and her legacy will live on forever,” he told Kansas City’s Fox 4. “Alysha was very goal-oriented, creative and passionate about giving back. She graduated with a bachelor’s of science in digital media production and was working towards her graduate degree.”
He continued, “She does not do drugs. She was a self-loving and happy individual who cherished her life and was looking forward to the upcoming year’s plans. She was a very classy young woman. There’s a spread of misinformation online, stating different things based on speculation. These sources lack credibility and should not be believed. My sister did not engage in environments that would lead to such situations.”
Parenting Instagram influencer Lindsay Dewey shared on February 17 that her 22-month-old son, Reed Dewey, died after an unsecured mirror fell on top of him.
“Our precious, joyful, and utterly perfect baby boy did not receive his earthly miracle. We are beyond shattered,” she wrote via Instagram, in part, at the time. “But I can’t help but feel an overwhelming sense of gratitude for getting to be his mama for 22 months. All he knew was love. And all he gave was love. Truly. And those who are close to us, can attest to that.”
Two years after being diagnosed with colon cancer, TikTok star Bailey Hutchins died on February 7 at age 26.
“Last night our Bailey B passed on to Heaven. Although we selfishly wanted her here forever, we are at peace knowing that she no longer has to endure any pain or suffering," a post on her social media account read. "This past month+ has been an absolute devastating nightmare for Bailey as well as our families. Bailey fought so hard these past 2 years.”
The statement continued: “It’s been an incredible journey to watch and I am so honored to be your husband and caregiver. Her spirit is as radiant as the sun. Bailey is such a light, and we plan on continuing to let it shine on. Myself, and our families will share her platform to tell stories about great memories and knowledge passed on to us from B. She was and always will be such a spark to so many, her story will live on.”
TikTok fitness influencer Chris O’Donnell died on January 11 at age 31. E! News reported that his death was ruled as a suicide by the Maricopa County Medical Examiner's office.
“Chris, I’ll love you forever. You’ve been a light in my life since we met in 2016. I wish we would’ve moved to CA together in 2021 like we talked about,” friend Morgan Ballou wrote on the obituary page. “I wish we kept in touch more than just online every few weeks. I have so many wishes. In the end, I wish you peace. My heart is broken. All the love and thoughts in the world to your family and Blue💙🕊️.”
