Initial jobless claims for the week ended May 17: -2K to 227K vs. 230K consensus and 229K prior (unrevised), according to data released by the Department of Labor on Thursday.

Continuing claims: 1.903M vs. 1.890M consensus and 1.867M prior (revised from 1.881M).
