Southern Charm alum Kathryn Dennis was forced to put her days of caviar and champagne on hold during her 11-day jail stint following her DUI conviction this month.
Us Weekly exclusively obtained the meal service and commissary list from the Berkeley County Hill-Finklea Detention Center in South Carolina, where Dennis, 34, began serving her sentence on October 3.
The former Bravo star likely missed that night’s dinner service, which was meat sauce spaghetti, mixed vegetables with a garlic biscuit and iced yellow cake for dessert, since records show that she didn’t turn herself over to authorities until 6:54 p.m. local time.
However, she would have woken up to her first jail meal the following morning, which included grits, biscuits with gravy and fried potatoes.
Other breakfast alternatives during her days-long incarceration ranged from sausage patties and pancakes to scrambled eggs and French toast, according to the jail’s food schedule.
Dennis’ lunch and dinner options included baked chicken with gravy and mashed potatoes, Mac & cheese with meat and cornbread, chili with seasoned corn, stroganoff with seasoned green beans and more.
If Dennis wanted to indulge, she could have turned to the facility’s commissary, which wasn’t short on snack choices.
Highlights from the detention center’s commissary list are a “hot summer sausage” for just over $4, tuna in a pouch for $2.75, Takis for $1.71, Doritos for $1.31, hot and regular pickles for $1.21 and Cheez-Its for $1.
Dennis also had plenty of options for her sweet tooth cravings.
The commissary list includes treats like chocolate cupcakes, honey buns and brownies under $2. Candy bars like Snickers, Butterfingers and Twix were also available for just under $3, with the most expensive sugary sweet being Jolly Ranchers at a whopping $4.86.
Dennis was also provided with recreation time during her nearly two-week stay.
Us obtained Berkeley County Hill-Finklea Detention Center’s inmate handbook stating that all incarcerated individuals in good standing are given “at least one (1) hour of out of cell time daily” for recreation, and can spend “at least three (3) hours per week” outdoors at one of the jail’s three outside areas, weather permitting.
When it comes to visitors, the jail Dennis was in provides well-behaved inmates with the option of video calls or in-person visits.
Visits came with restrictions, though, including only being allowed two visitors at a time for 15 minutes each. Regardless of video or in-person, all of Dennis’ visitation sessions, unless with her attorney, were monitored by officers, per the handbook.
Us exclusively reported that Dennis was released from jail on Tuesday, October 14, just 11 days into her 30-day sentence.
Dennis, however, tried to get her jail time reduced after checking in on October 3.
Court documents filed on October 6 and obtained by Us revealed that despite her sentence, the ex-reality star argued that her 30 days should be reconsidered for a number of reasons.
Dennis was convicted of DUI and transporting a container of alcohol in a motor vehicle with the seal broken, stemming from a May 2024 car crash that involved three vehicles.
Responding officers noted Dennis had “glossy eyes and an odor of alcohol coming from her person.”
Photos obtained by Us revealed at least four of the miniature Fireball bottles in the former Bravolebrity’s vehicle, with one appearing to be empty.
While Dennis initially denied having any alcohol or medication before getting behind the wheel of her truck, she later allegedly admitted during questioning that she had consumed alcoholic beverages but stated it was “way earlier” that day.
The ex-Southern Charm star was sued by Larry Patrick Griffin, one of the alleged crash victims, on August 14, 2024, who said he suffered “serious” injuries as a result of the collision, which he blamed solely on her alleged negligence.
He claimed the accident was caused by Dennis when her truck slammed into the rear of another vehicle, which subsequently hit his car.
In the suit, Griffin accused Dennis of being “under the influence and sway of alcohol and/or controlled substances” at the time of the crash.
She has yet to respond to the lawsuit.
Dennis announced her exit on Southern Charm in January 2023 after eight seasons.
She is mom to two kids, daughter Kensington, 11, and son St. Julien Rembert, 9, whom she shares with her ex, Thomas Ravenel.
