Ioan Gruffudd's Family Guide: 2 Daughters With Ex-Wife Alice Evans, More

Actor Ioan Gruffudd has become the father of two girls amid his decades-long career in the entertainment industry.

Gruffudd and his now ex-wife, Alice Evans, tied the knot in 2007. Two years later, the former couple welcomed their first child together, daughter Ella, in September 2009. Daughter Elsie followed in September 2023.

After 13 years of marriage, Evans claimed via social media in January 2021 that Gruffudd left her. 

“As you can imagine, this is an incredibly difficult time for our family and we remain committed to our children. Thank you for respecting our privacy,” they told Us Weekly in a joint statement in March 2021 after Gruffudd filed for divorce.

Amid the duo’s divorce proceedings, Gruffudd moved on with Bianca Wallace in 2021. Two years later, Ella filed a “domestic violence prevention” restraining order against her father and Wallace following an alleged incident at the couple’s home. She was only granted a temporary restraining order against Gruffudd.

The King Arthur star and Evans met on the set of 102 Dalmatians in 2000 and tied the knot seven years later. They welcomed their daughters, Ella and Elsie, in 2009 and 2013, respectively.

The pair called it quits in January 2021, as Evans claimed that Gruffudd had unexpectedly left her and their kids. “Me and our young daughters girls [sic] are very confused and sad,” she wrote via Twitter at the time. “We haven’t been given a reason except that he ‘no longer loves me’. I’m so sorry.”

In addition to claiming that she had suffered "six months of harassment" from the Harrow alum, she accused Gruffudd of ghosting her for "almost 10 months" in October 2021.

Gruffudd, for his part, claimed in court documents that he needed to sell the pair’s La Jolla, California, home in December 2022 because they could no longer afford it. “I live [in an apartment] with my girlfriend, who has been paying the majority of our living expenses, and all of our rent, since September 2022 due to my financial circumstances,” the Welsh actor noted.

The Titanic star also filed a restraining order against Evans to prevent her from speaking negatively of him and Wallace via social media. Though the Originals alum was accused of violating the order in March 2023, the charges against Evans were dropped. As of June 2023, the former spouses have not settled their custody battle.

Gruffudd and Wallace began dating in 2021 following his and Evans' split. The couple have remained relatively private over the years, though the model shares occasional pics of herself and the Ava star via Instagram.

She opened up about her battle with multiple sclerosis in an April 2023 essay for the Telegraph Magazine, in which she praised her boyfriend for his support amid her ongoing health journey. "[He] didn’t hesitate for a second, listing all of the reasons he was in love with me and why he was here to stay, and that no MS diagnosis or scary future would deter him," she wrote.

The Australian native continued: "When things are hard I sob to Yo [Gruffudd] about not feeling strong enough to face what is ahead of me, alongside the guilt I feel that he has entered into such a complicated journey."

One month later, Gruffudd's eldest daughter, Ella, filed a restraining order against the couple under "domestic violence prevention," according to court records obtained by Us.

They got engaged in January 2024 and married one year later in April 2025. They revealed in June 2025 that they are expecting a baby.

The Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer star and Evans welcomed their first child in 2009. In addition to a handful of red carpet appearances with her famous parents over the years, Ella is often featured via her mother's Instagram feed alongside her sister, Elsie. Evans shared a rare selfie with her girls in May 2023, as they attended a family friend's wedding together.

She and Elsie last appeared on Gruffudd’s Instagram page in December 2018. “Into my arms, O Lord! Have not seen these beauties since the 31st of October!” the Liar alum captioned pics with his girls. “Unbridled joy! Happy Holidays one and all!!🎄🍾🙏.”

Gruffudd and the Grimm alum welcomed their second daughter in 2013. Much like her big sister, Elsie has mostly remained out of the public eye. Evans, however, frequently shares pics and videos of her youngest child via Instagram. "Omg love is….. how do we describe it?" she captioned a selfie with her daughter in August 2022. "I love this person more than myself."
