Jennifer Love Hewitt looked radiant at the red-carpet premiere of the I Know What You Did Last Summer reboot.
Hewitt, 46, flaunted her curves in a black, beaded strapless dress on Monday, July 14, accessorizing the look with glittery black heels and a ring on nearly every finger. The redhead kept her makeup tastefully dramatic with a smoky eye and glossy pink lip.
She smiled as she posed for photos in downtown Los Angeles alongside costars Freddie Prinze Jr., Chase Sui Wonders, Madelyn Cline, Sarah Pidgeon and Jonah Hauer-King.
Hewitt starred with Prinze Jr., 49, in the original I Know What You Did Last Summer (1997), where their characters, Julie James and Ray Bronson, are stalked by a serial killer after they try to cover up a car accident that supposedly kills a stranger. The pair reprise their respective roles in the reboot, which hits theaters on Friday, July 18.
The film’s trailer dropped in April, and showed Cline’s character, Danica Richards, taking a bath — completely unaware that her boyfriend is being murdered downstairs. Afterward, she asks a friend if the killing was “some kind karma for what we did,” adding, “What if someone saw what happened?”
Danica’s fears are seemingly substantiated when she receives a card that warns, terrifyingly, “I know what you did last summer.”
Hewitt has heard that line before. At the end of the trailer, Sui Wonders’ character is shown recruiting Julie, now older and still-traumatized, for help.
“I just have one question. What did you do last summer?” Julie asks.
Hewitt also played the horror heroine in the 1998 sequel, I Still Know What You Did Last Summer, opposite Prinze Jr., Brandy and Mekhi Phifer. A new cast headlined a third film, I’ll Always Know What You Did Last Summer (2006), and in 2021, Prime Video launched a TV series that was canceled after one season.
“Listen, I loved doing those movies,” Hewitt exclusively told Us Weekly in May 2024, as speculation swirled that she’d soon return to the franchise. “There is nothing more fun than doing a horror movie. It’s the best. Julie James is awesome. I do think that there’s unfinished business there, and so I would be happy to do it.”
Earlier this year, the actress took to Instagram and shared a makeup-free selfie, telling her fans that she’s “learning to love the skin I’m in more and more these days.”
In a separate post, she marked her 46th birthday in February with another bare-faced photo.
“It’s been a hard start to the year,” she revealed at the time. “I don’t quite feel myself. But yet I feel like maybe this is all to bring me closer to who I am meant to be.”

She thanked her family for supporting her as she navigates aging in the public eye.
“In this feeling of loss and being lost I have found a strange calm and letting go that doesn’t usually come easy to me,” she added. “I know that I have the greatest kids and husband ever. My brother’s hugs heal me. I feel my mom with me everyday. My friends make me want to be a better human daily.”
She continued: “I have all the things I really need and long truly for nothing other than joyful moments, continuing in the career I love, more time with friends, delicious food and to feel a shift to this year that brings clarity and hopefully the return of a little magic.”
