Kel Mitchell Says a ‘Good Burger 3’ Movie Could Be on the Way

Get out your orange soda, another visit to Kel Mitchell and Kenan Thompson’s Good Burger could be on the way.

Mitchell, 46, hinted at a potential Good Burger 3 following the success of the movie’s 2023 sequel when joining Bilt founder and CEO Ankur Jain for a game of Rent Free, where celebrities compete to secure free rent for 10 Bilt members. During the game, Jain asked if a second Good Burger sequel could be a possibility.

“We’re talking about it!” Mitchell responded enthusiastically.

Good Burger 2 first hit Paramount+ in November 2023, and another sequel could be in the cards because it “did so good,” Mitchell said. Good might just be an understatement — the movie is “still No. 1 on Paramount+, breaking records” according to the actor. “We’re excited about that!”

Though there’s no confirmation of a third film, Mitchell is certain it’ll be something fans can look forward to. “It’s gonna be crazy!” he told Jain.

Just a month after its premiere, Good Burger 2 became the most-watched domestic launch on Paramount+, beating out 2023’s Pet Sematary: Bloodlines for the number one spot. The franchise’s first film premiered in 1997 as a spinoff of a comedy sketch from the Nickelodeon show All That, in which Mitchell acted alongside Thompson, 47.

Having gotten their start together in the industry, Mitchell and Thompson make for the perfect comedic duo. The two first teased the second movie while appearing on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon in 2015, and the film was confirmed to be in development later that year.

In Good Burger 2, fans follow Mitchell and Thompson’s characters Ed and Dexter Reed as they reunite and uncover a secret about their biggest competitor.

Mitchell’s appearance on Rent Free follows Bilt’s announcement of a special partnership with the actor. The platform is helping renters earn rewards for making rent payments, and in partnering with the Good Burger actor, they hope to increase awareness about the platform.

Bilt members are being given exclusive access to tickets for Kel’s Burger Fest, a ‘90s throwback party being held at Brooklyn Backyard Bar in NYC on August 30th. The event is set to feature “the best burgers from every neighborhood” and VIP meet and greet opportunities with Mitchell throughout the evening.
