Kinetic DX Electric Scooter: India’s two-wheeler manufacturer, Kinetic Group’s electric vehicle division, Kinetic Watts & Volts Ltd, announced its return to the two-wheeler market with the launch of the all-new Kinetic DX electric scooter, a made-in-India model range. 

The company has officially launched the Kinetic DX electric scooter for sale in the Indian market today. The new electric scooter comes in two variants. Plus, it is packed with advanced features that make it stand out compared to other scooters in the market. Let’s explore the smart features, price, variants and other details given below.

Kinetic DX electric scooter rolled out in India

Kinetic Motors has brought back the iconic DX scooter in a new electric avatar. Present in two variants, Kinetic DX at Rs 1,11,499 and Kinetic DX+ at Rs 1,17,499 (ex-showroom, Pune), the scooter brings back a retro nameplate with contemporary electric know-how.

How is the new Kinetic DX EV?

The styling of the new Kinetic DX EV is inspired by the original Kinetic Honda DX, but it now features a modern touch that helps it compete with other models in the market. The scooter comes equipped with a distinctive LED headlight, flanked by LED daytime running lights (DRLs) shaped like the Kinetic logo. The company is offering the Kinetic DX electric scooter in five colour options: red, blue, black, white, and silver, the same iconic shades it was once known for in its earlier era.

Performance and range

The scooter has a range of 116 km on a single charge and is capable of a top speed of 90 km/h. It comes with three driving modes, Range, Power, and Turbo, so riders can pick the ideal combination of efficiency and performance.

Design and build

With a sturdy metal casing, the Kinetic DX features a 1314mm wheelbase and 165mm ground clearance for a smooth and stable ride. It also features a large 704mm long seat and an under-seat 37-litre boot space for everyday use.

Battery and charging

Fitted with a 4.8 kWh hub motor with peak power, the scooter charges from 0 to 100 per cent in about 4 hours. It also features the added convenience of the ability to carry a gas cylinder upfront, providing versatility for riders.

Smart and safety features

Kinetic DX features various intelligent options, like an Easy Key keypad within the scooter for password-protected locking and unlocking. It has support for 16 languages, of which 14 are Indian and 2 are foreign languages, improving the user interface. The scooter also features an anti-theft system and a special Kinetic Assist button that links riders instantly to a helpline in case of an emergency.

Warranty and booking

The scooter is backed by a robust 9-year or 1 lakh kilometre warranty, showing how much confidence Kinetic has in its durability. The Kinetic DX electric scooter's bookings have already begun.

KEL invests in Kinetic Watts and Volts Limited

Kinetic Engineering Limited (KEL) has invested Rs 100 crore in Kinetic Watts and Volts Limited to support its electric vehicle (EV) initiatives.

Future investment plans

The company has also announced plans to invest an additional Rs 200 crore in the future to further expand its presence in the EV segment.
