Commercial Cooking Gas Becomes Cheaper, Domestic LPG Rates Unchanged: Oil marketing PSUs have revised the price of 19 kg commercial LPG cylinders, cutting rates by Rs 33.50 per unit. The new prices are effective from August 1, 2025. However, there is no change in the price of domestic LPG cylinders this time as well. From July 1, commercial cooking gas price was reduced by Rs 58.5 per cylinder.

Commercial LPG cheaper by Rs 33.50 per cylinder (19 kg)

With the latest revision, the retail price of a 19-kg commercial LPG cylinder in Delhi now stands at Rs 1,631.5 per unit.

This is the price businesses -- such as restaurants, hotels and catering service providers -- have to pay for LPG refills.

In Mumbai, the price stands at Rs 1582.5 per cylinder. 

In Kolkata and Chennai, the new price is Rs 1,734.5 and Rs 1,789 per 19-kg unit. 

LPG Price With Effect From August 1: Commercial cylinder rates cut again, domestic LPG rates unchanged

This marks a fourth back-to-back downward revision in the price of commercial LPG. 

Previously, commercial LPG prices had continued to be higher for a few months.

No relief yet for households; 14.2 kg refill price remains unchanged

Domestic LPG prices, however, remain unchanged for yet another month.

The cost of a 14.2 kg household cylinder is still the same across major metros:

  • Delhi: Rs 853 
  • Mumbai: Rs 852.5 
  • Kolkata: Rs 879 
  • Chennai: Rs 868.5 

These are the non-subsidised rates for domestic-use cooking gas. 

Which factors impact LPG price revisions?

Currently, oil marketing companies--Indian Oil, Hindustan Petroleum and Bharat Petroleum--review domestic and commercial LPG rates from time to time, aligning them with international benchmark rates and forex rates from the beginning of every month.
