When it comes to her film history, Mandy Moore isn’t quite sure she trusts husband Taylor Goldsmith.
In an interview on Kylie Kelce’s “Not Gonna Lie” podcast released Thursday, July 17, Moore said her husband might have lied about seeing her 2002 movie A Walk to Remember.
“I think he lied the other day,” she explained. “Somebody was like, ‘A Walk to Remember is so sad.’ He’s like, ‘Yeah, so sad.’ I’m like, ‘You’ve never seen it.’”
The movie marked Moore’s cinematic debut, i.e. a career milestone that propelled her to her onscreen success.
“I loved this story and, you know, to eventually get the part and be a part of telling this story was just like a real boon,” she continued.
The singer added that since her husband probably hasn’t seen the film, she thinks the family will wait to watch it together when their children are a little older. Moore, 41, and Goldsmith, 39, share three kids, August, 4, Oscar, 2, and Louise, 10 months.
Back in 2023, Moore also exclusively told Us Weekly Goldsmith had never seen the film.
“He’s never seen the movie! To this day, he’s never seen it,” she revealed at the time. “I’ve never pushed because maybe one day … we’ll wait, and we’ll watch it with our kids or something.”
Kelce also shared her own story about a lying husband in solidarity with Moore.
“I have a constant battle with my husband going on about when the time will be when we are allowed to get a cat. He doesn’t care for cats and has told our kids they are poisonous,” she said of her husband, retired football player Jason Kelce.
To make matters worse, Jason actually had a pet cat growing up, she continued.
“Yes, to be clear he had a cat growing up that he loved very much,” Kylie added. “And she was bada** and she would catch birds in mid-air. And he was very impressed by her. He is convinced we don’t need a cat.”
Elsewhere in the conversation, the duo revisited another film the former starred in: 2001’s The Princess Diaries, and the movie’s third sequel, which is currently in pre-production.
Anne Hathaway is the only star confirmed for the follow-up to 2004’s The Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement, but Moore said she would love to know where her character Lana has ended up.
“I had heard that there was maybe an idea to have my character sort of make a bit of a cameo,” Moore said. “But that was months ago, I haven’t heard anything since, who knows?”
“I would be game,” she continued. “I would love for there to be some sort of redemptive storyline. Maybe my character is working at an animal rescue. Hopefully, she’s made something good of her life.”
