Mercedes-AMG CLE 53 Coupe debuts in India at Rs 1.35 crore: Here's all you need to know

Mercedes-Benz has expanded its AMG portfolio in India with the launch of the CLE 53 4MATIC+ Coupe, priced at Rs 1.35 crore ex-showroom. The performance coupe follows the debut of the CLE Cabriolet earlier this year and arrives with a more aggressive stance, wider proportions and AMG-specific upgrades.

From the outside, the CLE 53 wears its AMG badge proudly. It sports the signature Panamericana grille with vertical slats, flared wheel arches, a muscular bumper and quad exhaust tips. The Y-spoke 20-inch black alloy wheels, wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires, give it an aggressive stance, while the gloss-black diffuser and connected LED tail lamps round off the coupe’s sporty rear.

Step inside and you’re greeted by a performance-focused cabin wrapped in luxury. Nappa leather sport seats, exclusive AMG upholstery and a flat-bottom steering wheel with drive mode selectors set the tone.

A 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster sits alongside an 11.9-inch portrait-style MBUX touchscreen, offering wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. You’ll also find premium touches like a Burmester 3D sound system, 64-color ambient lighting, wireless phone charging and a panoramic sunroof. Drive modes range from Slippery and Comfort to Sport, Sport+, Individual and the AMG-tuned Dynamics mode.

Performance and safety upgrades

Power comes from a 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged inline-six engine paired with a 48-volt mild-hybrid system, producing 450 horsepower and 560 Nm of torque. The engine is mated to a 9-speed automatic transmission and the fully variable 4MATIC+ all-wheel-drive system. The car accelerates from 0 to 100 kmph in 4.2 seconds, with a top speed electronically limited to 250 kmph — or 270 kmph with the AMG Performance Package.

Safety features include eight airbags, Active Brake Assist, Blind Spot Assist, PRE-SAFE functions and a 360-degree camera. Customers can choose from colors such as Alpine Grey, Obsidian Black, Opalite White Bright, Spectral Blue, Graphite Grey Magno, Patagonia Red Metallic, Spectral Blue Magno and Sun Yellow.
