Former Rich Kids of Beverly Hills star Morgan Stewart is mourning her half-brother Oliver’s death from pneumonia at age 45.

“Last night, I very unexpectedly lost my older brother, Oliver. He was musical, creative, funny, and wickedly smart — he was also a Leo,” Morgan, 36, announced via Instagram on Wednesday, July 16. “[Oliver] would have turned 46 on July 26th, and I was excited to be in Switzerland for it. He also struggled with the horrible disease that is schizophrenia. Ultimately, we lost him yesterday to a random case of pneumonia.”

Morgan revealed that she was “lucky enough” to spend time with her late brother in April to celebrate their grandmother’s 100th birthday. (Morgan’s parents are Herb and Susan Stewart, while Oliver was born during one of Susan’s prior relationships.)

“We talked about music and our childhood,” she wrote of her last meeting with Oliver. “We spoke fondly of my dad (his stepdad) and shared warm memories of our time together. We were half-siblings, but Susan never let us say that. She insisted that we were brother and sister, no matter what. I loved him and always felt robbed of the relationship I believed we were meant to have. But today, I realize — I wouldn’t have changed a thing.”

Morgan reflected on what she’d already learned from the outpouring of support she received from fans following Oliver’s death.

“Thank you for being with me over this past decade and seeing me through so much,” she wrote to her followers. “I haven’t acknowledged you — or what your support has meant to me — nearly enough. Whether you see something in me that you like, or just admire a pair of shoes I paired with an outfit, I hope I continue to inspire you and make you proud. Thank you for taking time out of your lives to invest in mine.”

The former Daily Pop cohost also addressed changes she felt were necessary in some of her personal relationships.

“[I] have spent enough time wishing people were different or trying to force relationships that don’t fit,” she revealed. “You’ve wasted too much energy thinking about ‘friends’ who don’t engage with your life or your social media. You’ve now learned that tomorrow is absolutely not promised — so it’s time to focus ONLY on fulfilling your potential.”

Finally, Morgan thanked her mother, Susan, for showing “grace” following the loss of both her late husband Herb and son Oliver in a short span of time.

“You are the epitome of strength, class, and grace — and everyone knows it,” she wrote. “I am who I am entirely because of you and your guidance. I can’t imagine how anyone is supposed to navigate the loss of their only son less than two years after losing their husband of forty years. But you will. And I’ll be beside you every step of the way.”

She poignantly concluded: “I didn’t think I could break. But today, I am broken.”

Morgan previously paid tribute to her late father after announcing his death via Instagram in October 2023, writing: “Dad, i tried to prepare for this moment as best as I could and I’m sorry to say I just couldn’t do it. I will miss you more than i can physically express.”

She continued, “Thank you for being the absolute best parent and person to me. I felt supported and loved by you from the moment we met and i will continue to kick ass and take names. I hope you’re playing classical guitar for your mom at this very moment. Please send signs. Mom and i will need them. I love you.”

Morgan shares two children — Row, 3, and Grey, 2, — with her husband Jordan McGraw, whom she wed in December 2020. She was previously married to former Rich Kids of Beverly Hills costar Brendan Fitzpatrick for three years before divorcing in 2019.
