Mumbai Weather Forecast: Incessant monsoon rains wreaked havoc across Mumbai and its suburbs on Monday, prompting airlines IndiGo and SpiceJet to issue travel advisories. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an 'Orange alert' for Mumbai, Thane, and Palghar, while Raigad has been placed under a 'Red alert' for extremely heavy rainfall.

Air India, IndiGo and SpiceJet warned that their flight operations at Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport could face disruptions due to low visibility and waterlogged access roads.“Due to the ongoing weather conditions in Mumbai, passengers are advised to check flight status before leaving for the airport,” said IndiGo in a statement, urging flyers to allow additional time for check-in and baggage drop.

SpiceJet also notified passengers via social media that arrivals and departures may be delayed or rescheduled and advised them to keep checking live updates on their flight apps or websites.

Train and metro services face delays
The Mumbai Metro One line (Ghatkopar-Andheri-Versova) experienced a brief disruption after strong winds blew a plastic sheet onto the overhead electric lines at Azad Nagar station. Services have since resumed.“Train operations are normal now,” Mumbai Metro One confirmed on X (formerly Twitter), citing the obstruction was swiftly cleared.

Suburban train services on the Central and Western Railway lines were running behind schedule, with delays of up to 30 minutes during the morning rush hour. Heavy waterlogging at key junctions caused further commuter inconvenience.
Monsoon revives across Maharashtra, Gujarat
According to IMD officials, the monsoon has now covered most of Maharashtra, entered Gujarat, and made its way into parts of Madhya Pradesh. Over the next 10 days, heavy rainfall is expected across India’s west coast, which could bring down temperatures.
