Naomi Watts and Ex Liev Schreiber's Blended Family Album 

Naomi Watts and Liev Schreiber dated for 11 years before breaking up, and they have since remained supportive coparents.

“We’re doing things very differently,” Watts told PorterEdit in August 2019. “I’m pretty proud of us, corny as that may sound. We’ve made it our absolute priority to be good and kind to each other and we’re absolutely committed to that.”

The two actors were first linked in 2005, eventually welcoming kids Alexander “Sasha” and Kai in 2007 and 2008, respectively.

Us Weekly confirmed in September 2016 that Watts and Schreiber had gone their separate ways after more than a decade together.

Schreiber has since moved on with former pageant queen Taylor Neisen, getting married in July 2023 before welcoming daughter Hazel. Watts, for her part, found love with her Gypsy costar Billy Crudup, and they wed in June 2023.

Watts celebrated Sasha’s 18th birthday with a touching post via Instagram. 

“Happy birthday sweet, darling @sashapeteschreiber 18 today-and ready for the world! Cannot believe it.😊😭 Have so loved watching you grow into the kindest, most wonderful young man. Thank you for making me a first time mum,” she shared alongside photos of the mother-son pair.

Watts and Schreiber celebrated their son Sasha’s high school graduation in June, surrounded by their blended family. 

“You did it @sashapeteschreiber !!! Congratulations 🥳🤩⚡️💥🎉. My heart ♥️ California here you come!” Watts shared alongside photos of her crew, including Crudup and Neisen. 

Schreiber brought Kai to the Broadway opening of Stranger Things: The First Shadow weeks before publicly supporting his child coming out as transgender.

“Kai was always who Kai is, but I suppose the most profound moment was her asking us to change her pronouns,” Liev told Variety in May 2025 of his daughter. “To be honest with you, it didn’t feel like that big of a deal to me only because Kai had been so feminine for so long. Kai is such a fighter. It’s important that she goes, ‘Hey, I am trans,’ and, ‘Look at me,’ and, ‘F*** you. F*** off.’”

Watts and Sasha posed with Wicked stars Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande at the 30th annual Critics Choice Awards. The teen also bonded with his dad when he won his category.

Watts and Schreiber posed for a sweet selfie with Sasha while out at a restaurant. She captained the Instagram Story upload with a red heart emoji. Watts also shared another pic of the trio outside, writing, “So proud of you @sashapeteschreiber.”

Schreiber was joined by Kai and his wife, Taylor Neisen, at the opening night of the Broadway play Doubt: A Parable.

Schreiber and Neisen brought Sasha to the New York Jets game against the Los Angeles Chargers.

The Human Capital star celebrated Sasha’s 15th birthday with a handwritten card and a stack of pancakes.

The blended family was all smiles outside Kai’s middle school graduation ceremony in New York City.

Watts lounged in bed with her two children for Mother’s Day.

“These two beautiful hams made me a mother. I'm so beyond happy that they chose me,” she gushed via Instagram at the time. “Even though I'm still waiting for the promised annual breakfast in bed, (no delightful or scary sounds coming from the kitchen… yet!) they are the greatest thing that ever happened to me. Can't decide if I like the quiet of sleeping teenagers, or if I should wake them and crawl into their beds.”

“When your teenager catches you eyeing an old flame,” Watts joked via Instagram, sharing a snap with Sasha in front of a King Kong billboard, referring to her role in the film franchise.

The coparents went on a family ski trip with their two kids.

“I ❤️ my ☀️,” the actress captioned an Instagram snap with Sasha.

Schreiber cuddled Sasha and Kai on his “favorite day” of the year: Father’s Day.

The Omen actor posed with Kai after returning home from work.

“The greatest Mother’s Day gift? A TikTok! #modernworld #newnormal,” Watts captioned the former couple’s social media video with Sasha and Kai.

“This is happening right now,” Schreiber marveled via Instagram, sharing a selfie with Sasha at the Super Bowl.

The Spotlight actor followed Kai’s lead to tackle a TikTok dance set to Queen’s “Another One Bites the Dust."

Schreiber taught Sasha boxing moves with a pair of Black Panther gloves.

Watts and her two children enjoyed a family getaway to Tulum, Mexico.
