Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban Are Applying for Portugal Residency

Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban are expanding their livelihoods to include Portugal.

Us Weekly understands that Kidman, 58, has applied for residency in Portugal while filming Practical Magic 2 in London.

A source tells Us that Urban, 57, and additional members of their family have yet to apply for visas as the country singer is currently on his High and Alive world tour. As part of the application process, the applicant must be able to attend the appointment in person.

The insider notes that Kidman and Urban will continue to maintain primary residency in Nashville.

Kidman and Urban, who tied the knot in June 2006, are no strangers to calling multiple locations home. The pair have homes around the world, including Los Angeles, New York City, Nashville and Australia.

Urban and Kidman put down roots in Nashville to raise their daughters, Sunday Rose, 17, and Faith Margaret, 14. (The Oscar winner also shares children Bella, 32, and Connor, 30, with ex Tom Cruise.)

“Obviously, I work hard, but when I’m off, I’m off. Keith and I are very good at immediately clicking off because we have a really good life in Nashville that’s very simple, quiet, and nourishing because we’ve made it like that,” Kidman said of her and Urban’s life in an October 2018 interview with Harper’s Bazaar. “We’re pretty strict with the boundaries on what we allow in terms of work into our home. I used to have an office in my house and I just got rid of it – it’s the best thing I’ve ever done.”

The following year, Kidman shared that her “roots are deeply embedded” in Nashville, where they’ve resided since 2008.

“Our house is always full of kids,” Kidman said in a 2019 interview with People. “Sometimes we have eight kids over for dinner after school. I’m so grateful.”

In addition to giving their home the familial aspect, Kidman shared earlier this year that she and Urban’s bathroom setup is one of the reasons for their happy and healthy marriage.

“We have a double shower,” she said to W Magazine in January. “The double-headed shower: key to a successful marriage. Separate commodes and a double-headed shower!”

In February, Kidman and Urban’s Los Angeles home made headlines after it was burglarized on Valentine’s Day. ABC News reported at the time that the duo’s house had been ransacked. Kidman and Urban were not home at the time of the break-in. The twosome have not addressed the break-in.
