Pamela Anderson’s son Brandon Thomas Lee is praising her role in The Naked Gun and her onscreen chemistry with costar Liam Neeson.
“I just think they’re such great costars,” Lee, 29, told Access Hollywood on Monday, July 28, at the film’s New York City premiere. “They have such a great onscreen chemistry. It means it’s well done.”
Lee complimented Neeson, 73, and Anderson’s comedic timing after seeing an early cut of the film prior to walking the red carpet.
“It was so, so incredible and they both did such an amazing job,” he said of the film. “And it’s actually really cool to see both of them in their comedic element.”
When asked about the obvious chemistry and flirty moments between Anderson, 58, and Neeson throughout their press tour, Lee laughed.
“My first reaction was I hope he didn’t push her off the edge or anything,” he quipped. “I’m always worried when I get sent the videos because I’m, like, watching to see if anything crazy happens, but it just looks like they’re having a great time, and it’s fun to see them be good castmates and having a good time.”
Above all, Lee is proud of his mom and Neeson for their work on the hilarious film, adding, “I’ve never laughed so hard that I’ve felt sick in a movie before. The chili dog scene with Liam is one of my favorites of all time. I could not hold it together.”
Anderson shares Brandon and son Dylan Jagger Lee with ex-husband Tommy Lee, whom she was married to from 1995 to 1998. Neeson, for his part, shares sons Micheál and Daniel with late wife Natasha Richardson, who died in 2009 after a ski accident at age 45.
While promoting The Naked Gun throughout the month of July, Anderson and Neeson have shared multiple red carpet kisses and other sweet moments in front of the camera, causing fans to speculate whether they are an item.
The pair appeared on the Tuesday, July 29, episode of Today, where host Craig Melvin asked them to define their relationship.
“What’s the deal here?” Melvin, 46, asked the movie stars. “You’re both single right now. There’s clearly chemistry on display throughout this film. Are you two an item?”
“Craig!” Neeson said, as Anderson responded, “What? I don’t understand the question.”
Neeson said that he had “never met” Anderson prior to working on the film together. He explained that they discovered a “lovely, budding chemistry” as costars.
He added, “It’s like, ‘Oh, this is nice. Let’s not mold this. Let’s just let it breathe.’ And that’s what we did.”
