Pete Davidson and Elsie Hewitt didn’t have becoming parents on their bingo card, but it’s a welcome surprise.
“Pete and Elsie definitely weren’t planning on starting a family but are over the moon about it. They are so excited,” a source exclusively tells Us Weekly of the parents-to-be. “Pete and Elsie have a really playful relationship, and things are going really well.”
The insider adds that while Davidson and Hewitt have been together for a “short amount of time,” they’ve become “inseparable” since they started dating earlier this year.
“This has brought them even closer. It’s a healthy relationship for Pete,” the source explains. “Pete has always wanted to be a dad and thinks the timing in his life is perfect. He couldn’t have done it a few years ago but is in a very different place in life now.”
According to the insider, Davidson, 31, has grown and “matured a lot.”
“He’s had a great year so far with two movies coming out soon, another in production, and a return to stand-up,” the source says.
As Hewitt and Davidson gear up to welcome their bundle of joy, the couple have gone into full nesting mode.
“He and Elsie live together now and are starting to get things ready, which has been very exciting for them to do together,” the insider shares.
Earlier this week, Hewitt, 29, announced that she is pregnant with her and Davidson’s first baby.
“Welp, now everyone knows we had sex,” the model wrote via Instagram, sharing several sonogram photos.
Many of the twosome’s friends expressed their excitement over the news, including Davidson’s good friend Machine Gun Kelly, who recently welcomed daughter Saga Blade with ex Megan Fox.
“These playdates bout to hittttt,” the rapper, 35, wrote in the comments section on Hewitt’s post.
Davidson and Hewitt sparked romance rumors back in March and confirmed their relationship on social media shortly after. Two months later, the pair made their red carpet debut at the Endometriosis Foundation of America’s annual fundraising gala.
“13th annual #BlossomBall 💜 this work, research & advocacy is extremely important to me,” Hewitt wrote via Instagram in May. “Thank you @seckinmd @padmalakshmi for having me and for all that you do for women’s reproductive health and thank u to the bestest glam team ever @patmcgrathreal.”
Before dating Hewitt, Davidson candidly expressed his desire to settle down and become a father.
“I’m definitely a family guy. My favorite thing ever, which I have yet to achieve, I wanna have a kid. That’s like, my dream,” Davidson told Kevin Hart during a July 2022 preview for season 2 of Peacock’s Hart to Heart. “It’s like, super corny, [but] it would be so fun. Dress up the little dude. … I’m so excited for that chapter. That’s kind of what I’m just preparing for now, is just trying to be as good as a dude, develop and get better so when that happens it’s just easier.”
