PM Narendra Modi has spoken with Brazil's President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva on phone as both countries face 50 per cent tariffs imposed by US President Donald Trump. The 50 per cent duty is the highest of Trump's long list of tariffs for most of America's trade partners. The conversation between the Indian PM and the Brazilian President comes at a time when the US has slapped more than 90 countries to new or increased tariffs, with a baseline 10 per cent tariff applying to most nations not specifically listed or under a special deal.
Both leaders discussed a broad range of topics over the phone. | File photo | Image: x.com/@NarendraModi
