Prabhu Dheva and Vadivelu, the iconic actor-comedian duo known for their collaborations in films such as Kaadhalan, Kaathala Kaathala, and Manadhai Thirudivittai, are reuniting after more than 20 years. The duo will star together in an upcoming movie directed by Sam Rodrigues, who helmed Prabhu in the yet-unreleased Musasi.
The makers announced the news with a special poster that shows two mysterious figures, sporting ragged clothes and a sniper, walking towards a bloodied car. The blood splatter on the rearview mirror reads, ‘Why blood, same blood,’ which is the duo’s iconic line from Manadhai Thirudivittai. Instead of the usual, the disclaimer on top of the mirror reads, ‘Objects in the mirror are different than they appear.”
The poster hints at a dystopian action drama on the cards. Other details regarding the plot and the rest of the cast remain unknown at the moment.
With music scored by Yuvan Shankar Raja, the film has cinematography by Vignesh Vasu and editing by Anthony. Peter Hein is the stunt director. Kannan Ravi produces the film under KR Groups banner.
Prabhu Dheva and Vadivelu last starred together in 2004’s Engal Anna, headlined by Vijayakanth. Notably, Vadivelu also starred in Prabhu’s 2007 and 2009 directorials, Pokkiri and Villu, both headlined by Vijay.
