Prince William and Princess Kate welcomed Prince George in July 2013, and the little one has been stealing hearts ever since. Fatherhood was “quite a change” for the Duke of Cambridge, he said during a royal event three years after George's arrival. "I’m very lucky in the support I have from Catherine, she’s an amazing mother and a fantastic wife,” William explained in 2016. “I’ve struggled at times. The alteration from being a single, independent man to going into marriage and then having children is life-changing.” The duke, who also shares Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis with Kate, went on to call his eldest son a “little rascal sometimes” who kept him "on [his] toes," but George is still a “sweet boy.” William added, "Having a daughter is a very different dynamic. George celebrated his 12th birthday in July 2025. The official Prince and Princess of Wales Instagram account shared his portrait alongside a message that read, “Happy 12th Birthday to Prince George!”

Princess Kate shared a black-and-white photo of her eldest son on his 11th birthday in July 2024.

Back in 2013, the Duke of Cambridge said that the English Cocker Spaniel was handling the arrive of Prince George well. "He's coping all right, actually," he told CNN. "As a lot of people know who have got dogs and bringing newborns back, they take a little bit of time to adapt, but, no he's been all right so far. He's been slobbering sort of around the house a bit, so he's perfectly happy!"

Prince George finished off the photo shoot in a striped T-shirt and jean shorts. "The Duke and Duchess thank everyone for all the lovely birthday messages they have received for Prince George," Kensington Palace's official Twitter account posted. "Can’t believe it’s been three years already!"
