Prince William and Princess Kate Middleton beamed with pride in a new family photo featuring their three children – Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.

The Wales royal family attended the 2025 Trooping the Colour ceremony at Buckingham Palace on Saturday, June 14, alongside King Charles III, Queen Camilla and the king’s siblings, Princess Anne and Prince Edward.

In their latest family photo, Prince William, 42, was all smiles, with his hand placed on Prince Louis’ shoulder. Princess Kate, 43, and Princess Charlotte were wearing matching teal dresses for the occasion, while the young princes wore navy suits with red ties. Like his father, Prince William was dressed in his military uniform for Trooping the Colour.

The ceremonial event – which dates back to the 1600s – is traditionally held each June in celebration of the monarch’s official birthday. Trooping the Colour occurs during the summer months, even though King Charles’ actual birthday is in November. (King Charles’ royal coronation took place in May 2023 following the death of his mother, Queen Elizabeth II, in September 2022.)

Prince William and his family are regular attendees at the Trooping the Colour festivities, with George, Charlotte and Louis making their debuts on the Buckingham Palace balcony in 2015, 2016 and 2019, respectively.

The Wales family have kept a noticeably lower profile in recent months, even skipping Easter church service at St George’s Chapel in Windsor in order to spend a quiet holiday with Kate’s parents, Carole and Michael Middleton, in Sandringham.

Still, the royals have much to celebrate this year after Princess Kate completed chemotherapy treatment for an unspecified type of cancer at the Royal Marsden hospital in September 2024. She shared the wonderful news in January that she was in remission.

“I wanted to take the opportunity to say thank you to The Royal Marsden for looking after me so well during the past year,” Princess Kate said via Instagram. “My heartfelt thanks goes to all those who have quietly walked alongside William and me as we have navigated everything. We couldn’t have asked for more. The care and advice we have received throughout my time as a patient has been exceptional.”

She went on, “In my new role as Joint Patron of The Royal Marsden, my hope is, that by supporting groundbreaking research and clinical excellence, as well as promoting patient and family wellbeing, we might save many more lives, and transform the experience of all those impacted by cancer.”

The Palace announced the king’s cancer diagnosis in February 2024, in addition to confirming that he’d “commenced a schedule of regular treatments.”

King Charles was hospitalized in March when he experienced “temporary side effects” from his “scheduled and ongoing medical treatment for cancer.” He was subsequently released later that same day and returned to Clarence House to recover.

A royal aide offered an optimistic update on the king’s condition May, describing him as “incredibly fit” from a physical standpoint. The aide also stressed to Hello! Magazine that King Charles remains “driven by duty” to his country and was handling the stress of his diagnosis “incredibly well.”
