Prosecutors Call 90 Day Fiance’s Leida a ‘Flight Risk’ Amid Investigation

Prosecutors fear 90 Day Fiancé’s Leida Margaretha is a “flight risk” due to statements she made about leaving the country and the “serious nature” of a “separate [ongoing] investigation,” Us Weekly can exclusively report.

Us obtained court documents filed by prosecutors on July 11 as part of an ongoing criminal case. They asked the court to force her to surrender her passport and restrict her travel to the state of Wisconsin.

The prosecutors explained that law enforcement obtained information “through the course of [a] separate investigation which suggests that [Margaretha] intends to leave the country. Specifically, [Margaretha] has directly stated to law enforcement that she was obtaining a passport for her minor child to return to Indonesia.”

“Based on these statements and due to the serious nature of a separate investigation, there are serious concerns that [Margaretha] is a flight risk and will make herself unavailable for court proceedings in the near future.”

On Thursday, July 17, Margaretha, 36, was booked into the Adams County Jail in Wisconsin for felony bail jumping. The details of how she came into contact with police are unclear.

A hearing in the criminal case is set for July 21.

Leida’s attorney, Taylor Hart, told Us, “Sadly, on July 8, 2025, Alisa Rosenbrook (daughter of Eric and Leida) was removed from life support and passed away. Over the past two years, Leida and her husband tried desperately for a child. They tried, and hoped, and prayed, but they unfortunately suffered many setbacks including multiple miscarriages.”

He added, “The loss of Alisa is a tragedy. Eric and Leida are both actively grieving and they ask for your privacy, sympathy and understanding during this difficult time. Today, the cause and manner of Alisa’s death are unknown. Leida is extremely distraught and is still seeking answers for herself. She loved her baby beyond measure and is struggling with the emotions of losing her child.”

Leida’s lawyer ended, “There are many allegations of wrongdoing being levied against Leida. This is no surprise as she has endured years of unfounded negative publicity and social media attention since her appearance on 90 Day Fiancé in 2014. Leida would have never harmed her child and she adamantly denies any allegations of wrongdoing.”

Back in January, Margaretha was charged with mistreatment of animals, disorderly conduct and felony bail jumping stemming from another criminal case. The situation also involved her estranged husband, Eric Rosenbrook. The court documents list Rosenbrook as “ETR.”

According to court documents obtained by Us, prosecutors claimed that on January 24, Margaretha and Rosenbrook had an argument over their dog. Margaretha was attempting to hit the dog with a laptop, but Rosenbrook tried to stop her.

“Leida picked up the dog with both hands around its neck and slammed it to the ground, causing the dog to yelp. ETR then pushed Leida against the wall and restrained her there with one hand on her neck,” the filing read.

Margaretha claimed she was being abused by Rosenbrook during questioning by police. The report noted that Margaretha was pregnant at the time. In an affidavit filed by Rosenbrook, dated February 2, a couple of days after Margaretha was charged, he described the alleged incident over the animal. He claimed he did not believe his wife hurt the animal on purpose.

He claimed Margaretha became upset when their new puppy had an accident. He said she tried to hit the animal with a laptop. He said he grabbed the laptop and threw it to the floor, which caused it to break.

He said, “What actually happened was, after I took my laptop and smashed it, she picked up our puppy up by the collar. Which caused him to bite her. She dropped him and stumbled as she lost her footing at the same time. This caused her to flail her arms at the same time she dropped him and the resulting motions are what I perceived as choking him and slamming him to the ground.”

Rosenbrook said they started fighting, which led to him slamming and banging her head into the wall multiple times. “I must have punched her face as she has a shiner and I admit that,” Rosenbrook wrote. “I admit to [doing]all the physical altercation that I have done to my wife. I am therefore opposed to the prosecution of Leida in this case.”

He said, “I am more than willing to testify,” he noted.

On May 29, Margaretha filed a plea of not guilty “by reason of mental disease of defect or there is reason that mental disease or defect will otherwise become an [issue] as to the following crimes.”

The court ordered Margaretha to be examined by a doctor by August 1. A hearing was set for August 27 before her recent arrest.
