“‘Twas a weird year. Cried a lot. Laughed even more, though. Felt great big love I have never felt before. So, all in all? Pretty sick 🤍,” the “Let Me Try” songstress wrote via Instagram, noting she celebrated the holidays with her now-beau. “Spending Christmas Eve with a man I have never met before, maybe you know him, he seems pretty cool — like he could be the love child of Iron Man and John Wick, idk though.”
She added: “Manifesting even more great big love (and health) for 2022.”
Zegler and Rivera snapped a sweet selfie from behind-the-scenes on the Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes set. “I am so glad we did this together,” the High Note actress wrote via Instagram, in which she called her boyfriend her “favorite actor.”
Zegler celebrated the pair’s second anniversary in a sweet tribute to Instagram, alongside a carousel of snaps that included the two holding hands.
“2 years! happy anniversary, whammo. i love you more and more each day. (you are the most grounded part of me),” she captioned the post.
Rivera shared rare insight into his relationship with Zegler, opening up to Vulture about navigating the public nature of their romance. "I have a lot of respect for her because she stands up a lot for what she believes in," he said. "I don't trust the general public with my opinions because, I think, regardless of what a person says, it can be taken however anybody really wants it."
In a separate interview with Men's Health, Rivera gushed, "We understand each other, which is really nice. It's helpful to have somebody who understands your experience and is with you as a part of a community."
“Rachel just made her Broadway debut, which is really, really exciting,” Rivera exclusively told Us Weekly at the Newport Beach Film Festival Honors Brunch held at the Balboa Bay Club and Resort, just days before Zegler made her official Broadway debut in Romeo + Juliet. (The production began previews one month prior.)
“I went to see the show a couple weeks ago and it's incredible. Everybody go see it. It's so good,” he added. “It's very exciting to have kind of parallel things that are just slightly different as well that we're both doing. It's neat. It’s exciting.”
After Zegler was photographed kissing dancer Nathan Louis-Fernand at a Sabrina Carpenter concert in London, a source confirmed exclusively to Us that she and Rivera had "quietly split" in late 2024. Zegler and Louis-Fernand worked together on the West End revival of Evita, in which she starred as Eva Perón while he served as a backup dancer.
