Ricki Lake doesn’t regret her 2024 decision to get a face lift.
“One year ago today I did a thing,” Lake wrote via Instagram on Friday, July 18. “Yes, today July 18th, is the one year anniversary of my deep plane lower face and neck lift, plus a mild co2 laser. I was in the best of hands with my plastic surgeon @drallenfoulad, a true master in his field.”
She continued, “After a dear friend had the most incredible experience with Dr, Foulad, I made the decision to follow in her footsteps. She is that friend that does all the research and due diligence for you. She met with all the top docs in the country. So thankful for her going first.”
According to the retired TV host, she had “lost 40 lbs” and, as a result, “did not like the extra skin that hung from below my chin.”
“It was never going to tighten up on its own. Not at 55. Trust me, when I tell you, I still felt extra cute and loved myself regardless, especially after working so hard to get in the best shape of my life,” she added. “This procedure was the icing on the cake. One year later, I look back on my brave choice and consider it one of the best decisions I ever made for myself. I share with all of you, as I am an open book and always will be. Also, so many people are interested and want to know, so here you go.”
Lake then described each photo in detail, including her initial consult and “the area I disliked.”
The former talk show host has been open about her decision to undergo the procedure before. In June, she spoke about the face lift on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen.
“You can’t see nothing! It’s amazing,” Lake said on the show. “I’m fully transparent, always have been. This is something that was bothering me. I lost a lot of weight, and I had this thing hanging, and I had it fixed.”
Cohen noted that he’s “seen a lot of work” and that her cosmetic procedure was “really good.”
Lake also spoke about her weight loss exclusively to Us Weekly in January.
“I started October 26, 2023, and went on this journey,” she said, adding that she wanted to “live her best life” and, as a result, started dieting.
“I did not go on any drug because I wasn’t prediabetic,” Lake said of rumors she used Ozempic to lost the weight. “There’s nothing wrong with those drugs. They’re actually game changers for so many people. But for me, I did not want to be reliant on a drug if I could help it.”
Instead, she set up her own plan. “I wore a glucose monitor. I wore my Oura ring [which tracks health data]. I prioritized sleep and overall, a low-stress lifestyle. And it worked,” Lake shared. “It continues to work.”
