Ryan Lochte is embracing his next chapter amid his ongoing divorce from estranged wife Kayla Rae Reid.
In an Instagram post shared on Sunday, July 6, Lochte, 40, could be seen wrapping his arms around a new woman, whom he tagged as Molly Gillihan. The pair were smiling as they posed for the camera.
In another photo shared in the carousel, Lochte laughed as he rested his head on Gillihan while in a separate image, the duo laid on the couch with a toddler. Lochte also uploaded a video of a celebratory fireworks display and a group pic, where Gillihan placed her hand around Lochte’s chest.
“Daytona Beach weekend! @mollygilli @d_lochte78 @c_lochte22 @lyssapaigeee and my lil niece Isla,” he captioned his post.
Lochte’s post comes one month after Reid, 33, announced the pair’s divorce. The twosome, who tied the knot in 2018, are parents to Caiden, 7, Liv, 5, and Georgia, 23 months.
“Earlier this year, I made the hard decision to end my marriage after deep prayer and reflection,” Reid wrote via Instagram in June. “I hold marriage in the highest regard, so this has been one of the most painful, revealing and challenging seasons of my life. I’ve been hesitant to share until I could do so from a place of healing — not from fresh, open wounds.”
She continued, “Sometimes we face trials we didn’t choose or see coming. And in those moments, we’re forced to make the hardest decisions to protect our peace, our children and our future. I’ve come to understand that staying isn’t always the most loving decision someone can make. For me, leaving was an act of love — for those around me and myself.”
The Olympian, for his part, addressed the split in a separate statement and noted that he’s “grateful” for the time he shared with Reid and the life they “built.”

“Although this decision hasn’t been easy, I believe it’s the right step toward peace and well-being for us both,” he wrote via Instagram at the time. “I remain committed to healing, growth and coparenting with care and respect as we move forward separately. Thank you to our family and friends for your continued support. It truly means a lot as we begin this new chapter.”
Shortly after the pair shared their divorce news, Us Weekly obtained court documents revealing that Lochte and Reid have more than $250,000 in debt. Us reached out to Lochte and Reid for comment at the time.
Reid requested primary custody of the kids but noted she was OK with sharing legal custody with Lochte. Reid listed the pair’s date of separation as March 7 and noted that their marriage was “irretrievably broken.” Lochte, for his part, claimed that the twosome split in April and asked the court to set a custody schedule as well as child support.
