Sensex drops over 150 pts, Nifty near 24,625; Wipro, Infosys top blue-chip losers, down 1%

Domestic equity benchmarks started Tuesday's session on a sluggish note amid selling pressure in financial and IT shares, though buying interest in pockets like oil and gas lent some support, helping them avoid deeper cuts. Corporate earnings remained in focus for domestic cues, a day after energy PSU GAIL tsaged a strong operational performance for the April-June period.   

The Sensex fell more than 150 points and the Nifty50 hovered around the 24,625 mark in early deals. 

IT stocks faced selling pressure with Wipro and Infosys among the top blue-chip gainers, trading around one per cent lower each.
