Sydney Sweeney’s Body Evolution: 30-Lb Weight Gain for ‘Christy’, More

Sydney Sweeney has always had a fabulous figure. From showing off her toned abs on the red carpet to posing topless on rooftops, the actress has no shortage of sexy looks throughout the years. While playing Christy Martin in a biopic, Sweeney revealed in June 2025 that she gained over 30 pounds for the role. “I loved it,” she told W Magazine at the time. “I came onboard to play Christy, and I had about three and a half months of training. I started eating. I weight-trained in the morning for an hour, kickboxed midday for about two hours, and then weight-trained again at night for an hour.” Sweeney added that she had to shop for new clothes while weight-training. “I didn’t fit in any of my clothes,” she explained. “I’m usually a size 23 in jeans, and I was wearing a size 27. My boobs got bigger. And my butt got huge. It was crazy! I was like, ‘Oh, my god.’” The actress added that she quickly accepted her new body, loving how “strong” she felt. The Anyone But You star showed off her toned tummy in a cropped Miu Miu sweater while posing at the designer’s fashion show in Paris. 

Sweeney nearly bared it all while rocking a transparent Miu Miu dress at the Madame Web premiere in Los Angeles.

After her lavender bikini pics went viral and she faced body-shaming comments, Sweeney posed topless on a rooftop, defiantly showing off her still-toned figure.

Sweeney again clapped back at haters while showing off her figure in a brown swimsuit. 

After calling off her wedding, Sweeney highlighted her tight waist in a Wiederhoef corset dress from the brand’s bridal collection. 

The It Girl looked fit as she took a bike ride in a white tennis skirt and black top. 

Sweeney took a stroll through New York City after sharing with W Magazine that she gained over 30 pounds to play Martin in a biopic. 

Sweeney chose a pale pink satin gown with drapery around the waistline for the premiere of Christy at the Toronto International Film Festival. Martin, whom she portrays in the biopic, was also in attendance for the special night. Sweeney choked back tears while being greeted with a standing ovation after the movie played in front of an audience for the first time.

“Christy, you are absolutely incredible, and I’m so honored. I’m gonna cry! Oh my God, you’re so inspirational,” Sweeney said on stage. “And so being able to have her by my side during this process was a dream, but then also just scary too, because you’re like, ‘Oh my gosh. Like, we’re, we’re doing this in front of her!’”

She discussed her 30-pound weight gain for the film and how it made her feel empowered. 

“I felt very strong and powerful,” Sweeney told Vanity Fair ahead of the premiere. “I loved it. Being able to lose myself to become a vessel for somebody else is my dream.”
