Tesla model Y spotted in Mumbai ahead of India launch; showroom set to open on July 15

Mumbai has become the stage for Tesla’s much-anticipated India debut, as the electric vehicle giant's Model Y was recently spotted on city roads. This sighting comes just days ahead of the official inauguration of Tesla’s first showroom in India, scheduled for July 15.

The model seen is believed to be the right-hand drive, single-motor variant of the Tesla Model Y. It is expected to offer a claimed range of 466 kilometres on a single charge and can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 5.9 seconds, making it both practical and performance-focused.

Tesla’s entry into the Indian market has generated significant buzz, and sources suggest that deliveries of the Model Y could begin as early as August. The vehicle’s presence on Mumbai streets before the official launch hints at final testing or internal previews ahead of the customer rollout.

The July 15 showroom launch will mark a major milestone for Tesla in India, as the company finally sets its retail footprint in one of the world’s fastest-growing electric vehicle markets.
