The Wealth Company gets SEBI nod to launch mutual fund, aims retail investors

The Wealth Company has received the final approval from the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) to begin mutual fund operations in the country. The new entity will operate as The Wealth Company Mutual Fund, marking its official entry into India’s fast-growing Rs 74.41 lakh crore mutual fund industry.

Backed by the Pantomath Group, the firm aims to bring a research-driven and tech-enabled investment approach to retail investors, especially those in Tier 3 towns and beyond. The company plans to offer products that combine the rigor of private equity-style research with the accessibility of mutual funds.

“Our entry into mutual funds brings our disciplined, research-backed approach to a wider audience,” said Madhu Lunawat, Founder and CEO of The Wealth Company. “We want to help more investors build long-term wealth while supporting India’s Viksit Bharat vision.”

The Wealth Company already manages around Rs 10,000 crore in client assets through four Alternative Investment Funds (AIFs). It plans to leverage this experience in its mutual fund strategies, using AI-powered insights, historical back-testing, and deep fundamental analysis to design its investment products.

Focus on India’s Growth Themes

The fund house will focus on companies that align with India’s macroeconomic goals such as Make in India, sustainable industrial growth, and digital transformation. It also intends to stay away from businesses that conflict with ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) values, thereby promoting responsible investing.

By prioritizing sectors that contribute to national development, The Wealth Company aims to create mutual fund offerings that are both growth-oriented and socially responsible.

Why Investors Should Care

With a strong foundation in alternative investments and a modern, data-driven approach, The Wealth Company Mutual Fund could become a key player in India’s mutual fund landscape — especially for retail investors looking for trustworthy, long-term wealth-building options.
