Todd and Julie Chrisley Return to Hosting Podcast After Prison Pardons

Todd Chrisley and his wife, Julie Chrisley, are back on the mic after serving time behind bars.

The couple officially returned to hosting their podcast — now dubbed “Chrisley Confessions 2.0” — on Wednesday, July 16, nearly two months after being released from prison. During the episode, the couple joked to their podcasting return.

“What’s your name? Because I haven’t seen you 28 months,” Todd quipped to his wife during Wednesday’s episode. “I’ve just been sleeping with you for the last 34 days. I never thought to ask your name.”

The couple noted that it was “crazy” to be back hosting a podcast following their respective prison stays, but teased the show was going to be “better” this time around. Todd and Julie spoke candidly about how faith helped them through their incarcerations and shared what’s in the pipeline for their future.

“We’re moving forward with a new show and I’ve got three other shows that are now projected to be picked up — things that I worked on,” Todd explained. “I worked on those things while in prison. I put those things together because I kept my mind busy and I I literally just pretended that I was at a busted broke down studio. I kept working and I kept dreaming.”

The Hollywood Reporter confirmed one day prior that Todd, 56, and Julie, 52, signed an exclusive multiyear deal with PodcastOne to produce their show, which originally launched in 2018. (Savannah Chrisley‘s “Unlocked” podcast is produced by the same network.)

Todd and Julie were released from prison on May 28, one day after receiving pardons from President Donald Trump. The pair — who have been married since 1996 — were sentenced to a combined 19 years in prison after being found guilty on federal charges of conspiracy to commit bank fraud, wire fraud and tax evasion. Both Todd and Julie reported to their respective facilities in January 2023.

“My parents have not spoken to each other, heard each other’s voices or seen each other in the past two and a half years,” Savannah, 27, told reporters while retrieving Todd from his Florida prison in May. “Their 29th wedding anniversary was May 25, so we’re only a few days out from that. So when they reunite, we’re going to celebrate birthdays, anniversaries, Christmases, all the things, because we’re going to make up for lost time.”

Along with Savannah, the couple share sons Chase, 29, and Grayson, 19, as well as adopted daughter Chloe, 12. Todd also shares two older children — Lindsie and Kyle, Chloe’s biological father — with ex-wife Teresa Terry.

While Savannah was picking up Todd, one of her brothers was bringing Julie home from her prison in Kentucky. Earlier this month, Todd spoke candidly about how he kept Julie in his heart while they were apart.

“In my mind, I was never away from her, and I would tell her in the emails every day,” he said on an episode of Savannah’s podcast. “I said, ‘I’m with you every step you take and feel my love surrounding you at all times.’ So when I went to bed at night, she was right there with me. When I woke up and I did my prayers, she was right there with me.”

When the couple returned home, Todd was “so grateful” to be able to share a bed with his wife again. “There was no awkwardness. There was no, ‘What are we supposed to be doing?'” he added.

Despite rumors otherwise, Julie insisted that the idea of ending their marriage never crossed her mind. “Let me set the record straight,” she declared. “We are not getting divorced.”
