Netflix’s Untamed revealed who killed Lucy in the series finale — but who else died along the way?
Untamed, which premiered in July, was set in Yosemite National Park, the location of a woman’s mysterious death that drew a federal agent into lawless terrain, where nature obeyed no rules but its own. The limited series stars Eric Bana, Lily Santiago, Sam Neill, Wilson Bethel and Rosemarie DeWitt, and kept viewers on the edge of their seats as they worked to identify Jane Doe a.k.a Lucy’s killer.
All signs originally pointed to Lucy’s secret boyfriend Shane (Bethel) as the person responsible for her death. But, in the finale, Kyle (Bana) discovered that his mentor Paul (Sam Neill) was actually Lucy’s father. Paul didn’t want his secret revealed, ultimately leading to Lucy running through the state park before going off a cliff.
Kyle tried to get Paul to take responsibility for Lucy’s demise — instead, Paul died by suicide.. The series, which has now been renewed for a second season, ended with Kyle leaving his job at Yosemite National Park to properly heal after his son’s death, leaving Naya (Lily Santiago) to take over..
Santiago, however, didn’t rule out coming back for more episodes in the future.
“I am waiting for the phone call. I’m like, ‘Find me on the horse on the mountain. I’m ready to go,'” she exclusively told Us Weekly earlier this month. “It’s amazing working on a limited series. But I think that there’s part of me that was like, ‘But I love these people and I love this character. Can we do six more [episodes] right now?’”

Kyle Turner
The first season revealed that Kyle was still grieving the loss of his young son, who died six years prior. While throwing himself into a new case — the death of Jane Doe — Kyle’s past caught up with him. Kyle accused Shane of killing Jane a.k.a Lucy, which resulted in a shootout that left Shane dead. While Shane had a murky past, he wasn’t at fault for Lucy’s death. Kyle ultimately connected the dots back to Paul, but couldn’t stop his mentor from taking his own life.
The finale ended with Kyle leaving his job as a special agent at Yosemite Park as he tried to move forward with his life.
Paul Souter
It wasn’t until the finale that Kyle realized Paul had a secret that caused him to go to great lengths to keep it from his family. While Paul knew Lucy was his daughter, he didn’t want his wife to know — so he tried to find her another home. They crossed paths again when Lucy was an adult, which is when Paul ended up killing Lucy to keep her from revealing that they were father and daughter.
Kyle urged Paul to take responsibly, but he ultimately died by suicide.

Jill Bodwin
Kyle’s ex-wife (DeWitt) made regular appearances in season 1 as their past was untangled. While investigating Lucy’s death, Kyle found out that Jill hired Shane to kill the man responsible for their son’s death.
Naya Vasquez
In addition to helping Kyle solve the case, newcomer Naya was running from the past after coming to the area to escape her ex. Kyle saved Naya and her son’s lives once her found them and by the end of the show, Naya was settling in — and taking over in Kyle’s place — at Yosemite.
Shane Maguire
Not much was revealed about Shane until Kyle found out that Jill hired the former Army Ranger to kill Sean, who was at fault for their son’s death. Shane’s secret romance with Lucy made Kyle think he killed her too, and a showdown between the duo led to Shane’s death.
