Voltas Q1 Results: Voltas Ltd, part of the Tata Group, reported a sharp fall in net profit for the first quarter of FY26 as weak consumer demand and a slow project pipeline hit sales and margins.
The company’s consolidated net profit dropped 58 per cent to Rs 140.61 crore, down from Rs 335 crore in the same quarter last year. Revenue fell nearly 20 per cent to Rs 4,020 crore from Rs 5,001 crore.
Expenses declined to Rs 3,792 crore from Rs 4,520 crore, but profit before tax still fell sharply to Rs 202.72 crore, less than half the figure from a year earlier.
Voltas’ core business, Unitary Cooling Products, posted revenue of Rs 2,867 crore and profit of Rs 104 crore. The Electro-Mechanical Projects and Services segment generated Rs 921 crore in revenue and Rs 49 crore in profit. The Engineering Products and Services division brought in Rs 135 crore and Rs 40 crore respectively.
On a standalone basis, net profit dropped 40 per cent to Rs 203 crore, while revenue fell 20.5 per cent to Rs 3,234 crore. Earnings per share were Rs 4.25 consolidated and Rs 6.15 standalone.
The company attributed the weak showing to cautious consumer spending and broader economic uncertainties that continue to weigh on demand for cooling products and engineering projects.
Shares of Voltas closed at Rs 1301 down by 0.63 per cent on Friday.
