In this webinar recording, MoneywebNOW’s Simon Brown and Investec Bank’s John Sherry discussed the latest structured products promoted by Investec – ASX 200 Autocall and Euro Stoxx Select Dividend Autocalls.
Structured products offer a high degree of capital protection and the potential to outperform markets on the upside. Autocalls are one tool for navigating markets’ general unpredictability, and Investec’s current offering comprises currency-hedged products linked to well-established indices with multiple observation dates.
Since 2002, Investec’s Structured Products team has issued 112 public products, growing assets to R43 billion. Eighty-seven products have matured, with 100% of investors’ capital returned. Investec’s rand-denominated products have achieved an average annualised return of 11.8%, outperforming their underlying indices by 5.1%.

Investec Corporate and Institutional Banking
Sherry started his career at RisCura as a hedge fund risk analyst. He was responsible for risk reporting and liaising directly with hedge fund management companies. During this time, he also worked part-time as a fund accountant.
Sherry then joined Investec in the Investec Corporate and Institutional Banking, Specialist Investments team, where he was responsible for the daily management of several hedge funds, mainly focused on derivative overlays linked to equity, plus a credit fund.
He has been with Investec Structured Products for five years, focusing on structuring various solutions for multiple client needs, growing the advisor network and building long-term relationships.
