Author Carley Fortune’s bestselling Young Adult romance novel Every Summer After is being turned into a streaming TV series by Prime Video.

Amazon’s streamer announced in July 2025 that it was partnering with Sex and the City producer Amy B. Harris on the upcoming literary adaptation, with Fortune on board too as an executive producer. According to Prime Video, Fortune’s Every Summer After sold more than 1 million copies and spent 14 weeks on the New York Times Bestseller list.

The retitled Every Year After takes place over the course of six years in the gorgeous lakeside town of Barry’s Bay, as two lifelong friends — Percy and Sam — explore whether it’s possible for best friends to become one another’s soulmate. Saltburn’s Sadie Soverall has been cast as Percy and Matt Cornett (High School Musical: The Musical: The Series) will play Sam.

Prime Video has already confirmed that Every Year After will launch simultaneously worldwide, though there’s no official premiere date quite yet.
