The newest Wicked: For Good teaser gave fans a look at Scarlett Spears’ portrayal of Young Glinda — and she looks like a miniature version of Ariana Grande.
In the clip, which dropped on YouTube on Wednesday, October 22, Spears, 8, made her debut as the younger version of Grande’s beloved character.
“I want to be magical for real,” Young Glinda said.
Spears was decked out in a pink poofy gown and blonde hair. Spears has an uncanny resemblance to Grande, 32, and fans took to the comments section to applaud the casting choice.
“Baby Ariana!!! 😭💗Oh my heart will break while watching the movie😭😭,” one user commented, while another responded, “Aww baby Glinda is absolutely adorable 😍.”
More fans expressed their excitement to see more of Glinda’s backstory in the upcoming sequel.
“It’s so awesome they’re really fleshing out Glinda’s character in this film. From childhood to the bubble,” another person commented.
Following the teaser’s release, Grande posted a behind-the-scenes photo of her and Spears dressed up as their characters.
“My tiny girl in the bubble, played by the wonderful and talented @miss.scarlett.brielle 🫧,” she captioned the black and white snap on Instagram. “Thank you for your beautiful work and for allowing the world to understand our Galinda more deeply than ever before.. ♡ I adore you so.”

Spears’ mom, who runs her social media account, replied in the comments section, “We love you SO much @arianagrande – what an HONOR it is to be part of your world. We love you, endlessly. Thank you for making this little girl’s dream come true. 🩷🫧👑✨🥹.”
Wicked: For Good is not Spears’ first major role. She previously portrayed Young Dora in the 2025 live-action Dora the Explorer movie, Dora and the Search for Sol Dorado. Spears also has a recurring role on General Hospital as Donna Corinthos, the daughter of Sonny (Maurice Benard) and Carly (Laura Wright). The young actress has appeared on the soap opera since 2022.
The second part of the Wicked movie comes one year after the first film’s premiere. The first installment followed the first act of the Broadway musical. The upcoming film, which premieres on November 21, will tackle the second act. In addition to completing the story, Wicked: For Good will include two new original songs. Grande gets a new number titled “Girl in the Bubble,” while Cynthia Erivo, who stars as Elphaba, will sing “No Place Like Home.”
While Wicked: For Good was filmed at the same time as the first movie, director Jon M. Chu shared that production went back to work following Wicked’s premiere for some additional scenes. One of those moments involved Spears.
“We had that scene in the script and I knew we should have kept it, but we didn’t shoot it at the time because we had a lot of other pressures,” Chu said of his decision to add in another scene with Young Glinda in an interview with Deadline earlier this month.
Chu explained that he and producer Marc Platt “always said ‘If we need it, we’ll go get it.’”
