Hulu is having a very documentary-heavy week, and we’re here for it in the first weekend of August.
The Bear, General Hospital and Love Island: UK seem to have a stranglehold on Hulu’s top 15 list. But some wonderfully off-beat choices stand out.
Watch With Us has made our picks for the three popular Hulu movies and TV shows that you need to watch this weekend.
Our selections this week include a very intriguing thriller, a true crime epic and a documentary that may haunt your memories.
‘Locked’ (2025)
There aren’t a lot of actors in the low-budget thriller Locked, but when you have Bill Skarsgård and Anthony Hopkins in the two leading roles, then fans are going to pay attention. Skarsgård plays Eddie Barrish, a petty thief who is in the wrong place at the wrong time when he decides to break into a luxury SUV.
That turns out to be an elaborate trap left by the SUV’s owner, William (Hopkins). William is tired of thieves like Eddie stealing from him, so he’s going to get his pound of flesh from Eddie by trapping him inside the car and torturing him. There’s no amount of penance that William will accept from Eddie short of mutilation or death. And if Eddie ever wants to see his daughter again, then he’ll need to find a solution fast.
Locked is streaming on Hulu.
‘Mr. & Mrs. Murder’ (2025)
Mr. & Mrs. Murder is a pretty catchy name for a true crime documentary. This is an ABC News miniseries that unravels the close connection between two couples, Kathy & Brian Winchester and Mike and Denise Williams. These four people knew each other most of their lives, so when Mike disappeared on a hunting trip, foul play wasn’t initially suspected.
However, the subsequent affair and then marriage between Brian and Denise made Kathy very suspicious about what really happened to Mike. Kathy plays a major role in this show as she shares her memories and relentlessly pursues the truth about how and when Brian and Denise became a couple, and whether they murdered Mike so they could be together.
Mr. & Mrs. Murder is streaming on Hulu.

Twenty years ago this month, Hurricane Katrina slammed into New Orleans and became one of the most infamous natural disasters in the history of the United States. Hurricane Katrina: Race Against Time marks the 20th anniversary of that tragedy with an extended look back at the lead up to the storm and the impact it continues to have on New Orleans residents who evacuated and those who remained behind.
This miniseries also examines the discrimination that survivors faced in the immediate aftermath of Katrina, and it’s one of the uglier sides of the story that’s often swept under the rug of the official record of what happened.
