You Need to Watch These 3 Popular Netflix Movies Now (July 7-12)

Netflix is still riding a wave of hit movies that are temporarily on loan from other studios.

Unsurprisingly, many of Netflix’s most popular films made the top 10 shortly after they arrived from their rivals.

To help you narrow things down, the Watch With Us team has selected our picks for the three popular Netflix movies that you need to watch from July 7-12.

It’s a very humor-oriented lineup this week, with an action comedy and a dark workplace comedy. But later this week, an epic romance is returning to Netflix, and we’re predicting it will storm to the top of the charts.

‘The Hitman’s Bodyguard’ (2017)

Michael Bryce (Ryan Reynolds) had a charmed life as a bodyguard to the rich and powerful until a hitman, Darius Kincaid (Samuel L. Jackson), murdered his client and sent his career into free fall. The Hitman’s Bodyguard picks up a few years later with Michael down on his luck until his ex-girlfriend, Amelia Roussel (Élodie Yung), requests his help after an Interpol prisoner escort mission leaves most of the agents dead.

Now, Michael has to protect the man who ruined his life long enough for Darius to testify against a dictator, Vladislav Dukhovich (Gary Oldman). Getting anywhere near this case is a recipe for disaster for Michael, as he stands to lose his life and what’s left of his dignity if he can’t get Darius to the courtroom on time.

The Hitman’s Bodyguard is streaming on Netflix.

Horrible Bosses (2011)

The title of Horrible Bosses doesn’t quite convey the full extent that Nick Hendricks (Jason Bateman), Dale Arbus (Charlie Day) and Kurt Buckman (Jason Sudeikis) are suffering under their respective employers. Bobby Pellit (Colin Farrell) is the new boss and drug addict who is ruining Kurt’s life, while Dave Harken (Kevin Spacey) acts like a full-blown psychopath towards Nick.

Even Dale is tormented by his boss, Dr. Julia Harris (Jennifer Aniston), who tries to blackmail him into sleeping with her by threatening to ruin his engagement to another woman. The three friends get so fed up that they take the advice of a hitman and prepare to murder each other’s bosses to be free of them. That plan goes awry almost immediately, and the guys are about to discover that their own lives are on the line as one of the horrible bosses comes gunning for them.

A Star is Born’ (2018)

Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga had such smoldering chemistry in A Star is Born that some fans assumed that they really were in a relationship with each other. That wasn’t the case, but viewers still gravitated to the fourth remake of William Wellman and Robert Carson‘s original story.

Cooper directed the film, cowrote the script, sang onscreen and cast himself in the leading role, Jack Maine. Jack is a country music superstar whose career is threatening to go off the rails over his addiction issues. When Jack discovers Ally Campana (Gaga) at a local bar, he still has enough clout to help her become a star. As their romance blossoms, Jack can’t help being a little jealous that Ally is quickly becoming a bigger star than he is. And he can’t quite hold things together despite finding the love of his life.

A Star is Born will stream on Netflix on July 8.
