Katy Perry’s latest stop on her Lifetimes Tour took a dramatic turn.

Perry, 40, picked out a handful of young fans from the audience to join her band for a rendition of “The One That Got Away” during her Sunday, August 3, show at Little Caesars Arena in Detroit. However, the moment proved overwhelming for one fan, a young girl named McKenna.

Footage posted via social media shows the moment McKenna collapsed on stage after the singer handed her — and three other young concertgoers — shakers. Perry immediately leapt into action, kneeling beside McKenna as she was checked by members of Perry’s team and event staff. The crowd, meanwhile, rallied in support of the young fan, chanting her name.

After McKenna was taken offstage, Perry hugged the other three fans and led a prayer.

“Dear God, we pray for McKenna, that she will come back fully and brighter and better than ever. Amen,” she said.

“It’s so much. Sometimes you’re so brave and you can get on stage, and it’s overwhelming. I understand that feeling,” she said, before returning to her set and performing “The One That Got Away.”

Later during the show, while performing “Roar,” Perry gave fans an update on the girl’s condition. “McKenna’s doing great, by the way,” she said before shouting McKenna’s name at the end of the song.

Sunday’s Detroit show marked Perry’s return to the U.S. after several concerts in Canada, where the singer sparked romance rumors with former Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.

Perry and Trudeau, 53, were spotted together in public numerous times in Montreal on Monday, July 28, per pictures obtained by TMZ. They were first seen taking a stroll at Mount Royal Park, accompanied by Perry’s dog. The pair later dined together at restaurant Le Violon.

Two days later, Trudeau appeared enchanted by Perry as he watched her perform on stage at the Belle Centre in Montreal. Per footage circulating online, Trudeau was seen nodding along to Perry’s music and watching the stage intently.

Perry and ex-fiancé Orlando Bloom confirmed in July that they had ended their relationship.

“Orlando and Katy have been shifting their relationship over the past many months to focus on coparenting,” representatives for the pair said in a joint statement to Us Weekly. “They will continue to be seen together as a family, as their shared priority is — and always will be — raising their daughter with love, stability and mutual respect.”

The former couple share daughter Daisy Dove, 4, while Bloom is also dad to son Flynn, 14, with ex-wife Miranda Kerr.
