Apple’s grand reveal of the iPhone 17 lineup on Tuesday sparked immediate reactions from fans and rivals alike-- and Samsung wasted no time in turning the spotlight on itself with sharp jabs at the tech giant.
Apple’s thinnest iPhone yet
The company introduced four new models, including its latest addition, the iPhone Air, which Apple described as its “thinnest smartphone yet.” The lineup brings better cameras, longer battery life, and the new A19 chip designed to boost Apple’s artificial intelligence features.
Apple claimed its iPhone Air is also the most power-efficient iPhone to date. The iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max carry an 18 MP front camera and a triple 48 MP setup at the rear, including main, ultrawide, and telephoto lenses.
Samsung pulls out old receipts
But not everyone was impressed. Samsung Mobile US taking to its official handle on X , revived a years-old tweet poking fun at Apple’s lack of a foldable device. The post read, “Let us know it when it folds,” which Samsung reposted with the remark, “I can’t believe this is still relevant.”
The message was widely interpreted as a dig at Apple’s continued absence from the foldable smartphone market.
The camera battle
Samsung also trolled Apple’s latest camera updates. Sharing a pointed post, Samsung Mobile US wrote, “48MP x 3 still doesn’t equal 200MP #iCant.” The reference pointed to Samsung’s flagship Galaxy devices, which already boast a 200MP primary sensor.
Sleep Score feature mocked
Apple also unveiled the Apple Watch Series 11, complete with a new “Sleep Score” feature to measure sleep quality. Samsung couldn’t resist mocking this addition, posting, “#iCant believe some people had to wait 5 years for Sleep Score.”
The post drew attention to the fact that Samsung had offered similar features years earlier.

Even Apple’s latest AirPods Pro 3 with real-time live translation didn’t escape Samsung’s attention. On X, Samsung Mobile US quipped, “(Apple emoji) just announced live translation at Zzz-note All we can say is, welcome to the party #iCant.”
The remark suggested that Apple was playing catch-up to Galaxy AI-powered features.
Samsung signs off with one last burn
Summing up its online jabs, Samsung Mobile US left one more message for Apple: “Actual innovation > hype #iCan.”
Netizens react to rivalry
The fiery exchanges lit up social media, with users chiming in on the playful banter.
One fan wrote, “Whoever runs this account deserves a raise.” Another added, “We’ve been doing it better with #GalaxyAI.”
Others felt Samsung’s obsession with Apple was a bit too much. “Apple lives rent free in your head?” one asked, while another joked, “Lol ur watching the event more closely than Apple themselves.”
And one user summed it up with, “Bro needs to hesitate.”
