Andy Roddick and Brooklyn Decker's Relationship Timeline

Andy Roddick fell hard for Brooklyn Decker after their first meeting — and their romance has only gotten stronger.

“I was hosting a show for football for Sports Illustrated and he watched it every week and he got his attorney to call my agent at the time and I thought it was very shady as one would,” Decker recalled to the Tennis Channel in July 2017. “And I did not call him back for five months I was living in New York at the time and my now-manager said to me, ‘You have no friends, all your friends are in North Carolina where I grew up and why don't you call this guy, I hear he’s really nice.’”

The twosome began dating in 2007, nearly one year before Roddick popped the question. They wed in April 2008.

Roddick and Decker, who share son Hank and daughter Stevie, work hard to keep their spark alive.

“I think with work and kids, I think that we’re a really good team,” Roddick gushed to Us Weekly in August 2022. “I think we know that we each try to go above and beyond with our household responsibilities and the kids. And so, I don't think we ever question either [person’s] effort at all [which] leads to kind of more of a calming situation.”

After watching Decker host “She Says Z Says, NFL Pick” on Sports Illustrated’s website, Roddick was keen to meet her in person. Luckily, the model eventually agreed to connect and the pair officially started dating soon after.

After nearly one year together, Roddick proposed to Decker.

Us confirmed the duo wed in an intimate Texas ceremony. “It was really simple but beautiful,” a source recalled at the time. “Just close friends and family.”

Hank became a big brother in 2017 when Decker gave birth to the pair’s second child, daughter Stevie.

While balancing the busy careers and raising two kids, Roddick found time to share the key to the pair’s lasting romance.

“Honestly, it’s not romantic, but you have to schedule it,” the former US Open champ told Us. “Honestly, kind of everything revolves around your kids, and a couple of careers. We do try to do a good job of saying, ‘Hey, next Wednesday we’re going to go out and enjoy each other.’ Enjoy the silence of no children around, and enjoy not picking stuff up off the floor, unless we do it.’ So, scheduling matters when you’re this far out and have a couple of kids.”

“Mom and dad,” the Just Go With It actress captioned an Instagram snap with her man.

The couple tested out pal Chrissy Teigen’s headbands from her Cravings brand and Decker teased via Instagram that they were “fighting” over the accompanying faux-fur robe and slippers.

The actress and the professional athlete attended Phil Riportella and Simon Huck’s wedding, which marked the “first time” Decker ever saw her spouse wear a tuxedo. “Yes, he refused to wear one for his own wedding, so the fact that he wore one tonight speaks volumes,” she noted via Instagram.

“[Marriage] does become hilariously transactional,” Decker exclusively told Us in April 2022 of balancing their relationship with raising two children. “You’re like, ‘I’ve got the kids, you go buy the tampons, go get the diapers.’ … It’s very [much] like making a game plan for a football game. You’re drawing the X’s and someone is going to tackle this job and the other one’s going to take care of this.”

She added at the time: “I do think it’s easy to get caught up in the management of life, home, children, all of it. However, we do set aside time. … We prioritize it, but I think we could all do a better job.”

“Couples who vote together bone together,” she wrote via Instagram, sharing a selfie with Roddick after they voted in the local primary election.

“We do communicate pretty well,” Roddick revealed to Us. “We’ve been together 15 years, so you now, so that's not nothing, but marriage is something that you definitely have to work at and I think we both realize that.”

In addition to gushing about their romance, the Andy Roddick Foundation entrepreneur praised their children. 

“I think our daughter is pretty fiery [which] I tended to be on the court. I think we're both, pretty stubborn so maybe I think our daughter might be a little bit more like me [and] our son is very sweet and empathetic like his mother, but I think they're bits of both us in both of them,” he said, noting they are “happy” with two kids. “I don't think we know [if we’ll have more kids]. I normally just follow orders from my wife so we'll see what happens.”

“May he be this excited to take pictures with me for the next 14,” Decker captioned a series of photos via Instagram in celebration of the pair’s 14th wedding anniversary.

The actress made goofy faces in all the snaps, while her husband looked unimpressed or away from the cameras. “🥰 Happy Anniversary to my husband who is not on Instagram so will never see this,” she added.

Decker joined her spouse at the annual gala for his nonprofit, the Andy Roddick Foundation.
