Angola’s state-owned carrier TAAG will acquire Boeing 787-10 aircraft and spare engines under a $297 million financing deal approved by the US Export-Import Bank.
The transaction will fund the purchase of the wide-body jets and General Electric Aerospace equipment, supporting about 1 400 jobs across US supply chains where Boeing and GE operate, EXIM said in a statement Wednesday.
The deal aligns with Angola’s push to position the new $3 billion Dr. Antonio Agostinho Neto International Airport in Luanda as a regional and intercontinental hub.
