Barbra Streisand ‘Can’t Remember’ If She Had Sex With Warren Beatty

Barbra Streisand is doubling down on her claim that she can’t remember whether she actually hooked up with fellow icon Warren Beatty.

Streisand, 83, was asked about her allegedly faulty memory in an interview with The New Yorker published Saturday, June 14. “I know I slept in the bed with him, but I can’t remember if we actually had penetration,” she said of Beatty, now 88. “I swear to God, I can’t. There are certain things I block out.”

When pressed about whether she was telling the truth, the Oscar winner insisted that she really doesn’t remember but noted she and Beatty are “still friends.”

“Every year on my birthday, he calls me and we have a wonderful talk about our lives, our children and so forth,” she explained. “So we’re still friends. I met him when I was 15 years old, and he was 21, I think.”

Streisand initially wrote about her romantic past with Beatty in her 2023 memoir, My Name Is Barbra.

“Warren and I go back a long way (back to summer stock) and there’s some water under that bridge,” she wrote. “Recently, we were on the phone talking politics and who knows what else when he said, ‘I remember why we broke up.’ I said, ‘When were we together?’ Then I hung up and asked myself, ‘Did I sleep with Warren?’ I kind of remember. I guess I did. Probably once.”

She also wrote about being asked whether she had been “romantically linked” with Beatty during a 1977 interview with Playboy. “I said blithely, ‘One of my flings,’” she recalled. “I was just tossing off a reply, playing the role of a jaded woman of the world.”

While Streisand can’t remember what really happened with Beatty, at least one other celebrity claims to have intel on the whole situation. In her own 2016 memoir, Kathy Griffin claimed she once overheard Streisand and Beatty discussing the alleged hookup at a party.

“Warren, I’m not going to have this fight with you again. We nev-ah hooked up,” the comedian, 64, recalled Streisand saying in Kathy Griffin’s Celebrity Run-Ins.

“Noooo, Barbra, I think we did,” Beatty allegedly replied. “We were coming back from that little club in the Catskills.”

The circumstances of their past may remain a mystery forever, but both have been happily married to other people for years. Streisand wed James Brolin in 1998, while Beatty tied the knot with Annette Bening in 1992.
